Why Is Weight A Dilemma?<br />In a study involving 33 obese patients with a mass body index of 40, Swiss researchers found that through using a program that went beyond the standard obesity treatment approaches of a diet and exercise, more than half of these obese patients maintained a 10 kg weight reduction and overall 70% succeeded in avoiding further weight gain after five years. <br /><br />

Why Is Weight A Dilemma cont...<br />Whilst many programs are successful in getting people to lose weight, long-term success rates are poor, with most dieters regaining their initial weight loss within a year. Very few – perhaps 5% - manage to keep the weight off in the long term.<br /><br />

Why Is Weight A Dilemma cont...<br />However, this study that included workshops that addressed issues such as identifying the triggers for bingeing, reconnecting with the body, tuning in to hunger and fullness signals and expressing emotions, plus follow up sessions that included weighing and basic counseling found…<br /><br />
  5. 5. Why Is Weight A Dilemma cont...<br />at the end of the five years, only 30% of the patients had regained weight, a total of 15% weighed about the same, and 55% had lost more weight, on average 10 kg in total. No diet drugs or gastric band surgery were used in the program.<br /><br />

There are many people who have had anxieties, insomnia, gambling and alcohol addictions and like weight addiction, it can be released in a short time frame…<br /><br />

  9. 9. What to know....<br />Australia has an obesity problem, and if you feel that you are beginning to fit into that problem, it would benefit your health to take care of that now before the inevitable health problems of weight, become a problem for you.<br /><br />

  16. 16. Making sense...<br />Don’t go for the jazzy stuff. If you have been to weightwatchers, Jenny Craig, Exercise Gyms or tried similar methods that seem to have worked but you have left, put on more weight and go back again. Forget it! You are using “Willpower”. Willpower is short-lived and becomes harder to do.<br /><br />

Making sense...<br />If you understand that your conscious mind which uses rational thinking, analytical thinking and willpower, and is about 10% of your mind – and your subconscious mind that houses all your past memories, habits, strategies, impulses, feelings, emotions, wants, dislikes etc. is 90% of your mind – <br /><br />
  18. 18. Making sense...<br />who do you think will win the war if there is a disagreement between the two minds?<br />Conscious: No! We won’t eat hamburgers and chips, you know we want to lose weight. We will have that salad sandwich instead.<br />Sub-conscious: I’m hungry and don’t want to eat rabbit food. And if I’m going to blow it, might as well have a piece of cake as well. Let’s add a soft drink while we are at it. We can start our diet tomorrow.<br />And so it goes on...<br /><br />
  19. 19. Making sense...<br />So the trick is to do things differently, isn’t it? Remember that there is no such thing as failure, there is only feedback that tells you if things are working or not working. If they are not working, then remember that doing the same thing and expecting a different outcome, simply doesn’t work.<br /><br />
  20. 20. Making sense...<br />But know that you are not alone. According to the Access Economics Report, $3.7 billion were the financial costs of obesity, and on top of that there are about another $17 billion which were the loss of healthy life caused by obesity. <br /><br />
  21. 21. Making sense...<br />That’s because obesity is linked to cardiovascular diseases, to diabetes type two, and also to osteoarthritis, high blood pressure and a number of cancers.<br /> <br /><br />

Can Hypnosis Help?<br />Can Hypnosis help – if so how?<br />Your subconscious is very powerful. <br />It can put in a full-up feeling when you have had enough to eat.<br />It can exercise for you while you sleep.<br />It can remove craving for unhealthy foods. (Just like it can remove craving for cigarettes.)<br /><br />

Can Hypnosis Help?<br />It can increase your metabolism so that you burn off more calories.<br />It can change your mind to make it a habit to eat normally – just like other people do that don’t have a weight problem.<br />Without feeling that you are denying yourself or having to use willpower.<br /><br />
