  1. 1. Capintec Selects Numa to Design Digital Thyroid Application NumaCap to Power Captus 3000 Thyroid Uptake Exams Numa, Inc. (Amherst, NH), the nuclear medicine connectivity company, has signed an agreement with Capintec, a leading supplier of energy measurement products and services, to develop an application for the digital reporting and communication of Captus 3000 Thyroid Update Systems exams. These systems measure thyroid iodine uptake and are based on an iodine-based radionuclide. Under the agreement, Numa will develop a digital application for integration into the thyroid device that will create a complete DICOM record for each patient exam, including demographics and a secondary screen capture of the alphanumeric exam data. The new NumaCap software will interface with a RIS or PACS and query the DICOM worklist provider to populate the Captus report with patient demographics, saving facilities significant time in data re-entry. After study completion, the Numa application will export a snapshot of the test results. Completed patient DICOM files will be available for viewing on any DICOM nuclear medicine or PACS workstation and for transmission over the hospital network or Internet as well as archiving using a PACS. “As medical facilities increasingly convert to a digital environment with connectivity across the enterprise, digital storage and transmission of all nuclear medicine exams is crucial,” commented Lawrence Smith president of Numa. “Numa is proud to have been selected by Capintec, the industry leader, to enable this advanced connectivity for thyroid uptake exams and looks forward to a long and productive relationship with the company.” About Numa For over fourteen years, Numa has been the leader in nuclear medicine connectivity and system integration, with solutions that deliver enhanced throughput, efficiency and productive workflow.
