Attachment H COLLEGE CURRICULUM COMMITTEE January 10, 2007 Credit Program Additions: Hospitality – Event Planning Management, Technical Certificate Credit program addition to prepare student for immediate employment with employable skills in the hospitality industry in the event planning area of hotels, resorts, convention centers and other hospitality related sites. This is not only a new program to Valencia but also to the State of Florida. The proposal was approved effective Fall 2007 (200810). Computed Tomography, Advanced Technical Certificate Credit program addition to respond to the requests of the medical community for a pathway to additional certifications for imaging technologists. This program will provide an advanced technical certificate for ARRT, or equivalent, certified Radiographers, Nuclear Medicine Technologists and Radiation Therapists. The proposal was approved Fall 2007 (200810). Magnetic Resonance Imaging, Advanced Technical Certificate Credit program addition to respond to the requests of the medical community for a pathway to additional certifications for imaging technologists. The proposal was approved Summer 2007 (200730). Industrial Management Technology, A.S. Degree Credit program additional to offer a new A.S. Degree program in Industrial Management Technology. This is an articulated program with the Orange County Public Schools Tech Centers and TECO of Osceola District Schools. It provides the opportunity for students who have completed one of the specified industrial-related tech center programs to pursue college-level course work that is appropriate for supervisory and management roles and upward mobility in their respective fields. Individuals, whether or not currently working in industry, who have completed one of the approved industrial-related postsecondary certificates or registered apprenticeships training programs at an Orange County Public Schools Tech Center to TECO of Osceola County, are eligible to pursue this degree. Degree Program modification to add course (CET 2972 Microsoft Windows Server 2003 Network) to Restricted Electives to comply with UCF articulation agreements and improve student completion success; add course (CGS 2062 Social, Legal, and Ethical Issues in Information Technology) to the list of Non-Restricted Electives. This proposal was approved effective Fall 2007 (200810). Medical Information Coder/Biller Administration, A.S. Degree Medical Office Administration, A.S. Degree Office Administration, A.S. Degree Program modification to expand the list of Electives to include all OST-prefix courses not being used for a requirement in this degree except OST 1141. Add the following to the Electives: APA 1111 Basic Accounting or ACG 2021 Principles of Financial Accounting. This proposal was approved effective Fall 2007 (200810). Office Management, Technical Certificate Program modification to expand the list of Office Management Technical Certificate Electives to include all OST-prefix courses not being used for a requirement in the Office Management Technical Certificate except OST 1141. Law Enforcement Officer, Career Certificate Crossover: Corrections to Law Enforcement, Career Certificate Program modification to comply with a State mandate to establish training curricula for human trafficking be included in the basic recruit programs for Law Enforcement and Crossover: Corrections to Law Enforcement programs. Four (4) credits will be to CJK 0075 Law Enforcement Investigative Offenses. These proposals were approved effective Spring 2007 (200720). Auxiliary Law Enforcement Officer, Career Certificate Program modification to comply with a State mandate to establish training curricula for human trafficking be included in the basic recruit programs for Auxiliary Law Enforcement Officer program. Four (4) credits will be to CJD 0992 Law Enforcement Volunteer Personnel. The proposal was approved effective Spring 2007 (200720).
