Editor's Notes
You are all in a change management role.
Roger’s bell curve. Diffusion of innovation, 1962.
He ran away from a battle and is willfully undergoing a torture ritual to purify himself of his cowardice.
If we believe it’s important to support faculty on both sides of the chasm, we need to first generate knowledge about their experiences.
When we move towards relatedness, we begin to see the interconnectedness between our organizations and their contexts. We begin to understand an organization as a fluid, adaptive system.
digital scholarship. Can scholarship go viral? Why is the hard work of researchers behind the pay walls of academic journals? Research is a formative process. Blogging opens that process and lets the public in.
2017 Horizon Report for Higher Ed: Improving Digital Literacy is noted as a Significant Challenge Impeding Higher Education.Understanding of digital tools and information.
What emerges from the chasm? fake news, cyber bullying, mis-use of personal data

After the LMS industry was born, 90% of higher ed institutions had adopted the LMS.
2013 Study by Seaman and Tinti-Kane, 40% of higher ed faculty use social media in classes. Still ambiguity about how “social media” is defined.
80% of faculty in higher education are comprised of contingent employees - part-time/adjunct or graduate assistants. The more diverse the student population is, the worse this statistic is.
In times of change, faculty development is even more important to the future success of an organization.
