Essay On Tony Awards
The nominees for the Tony Awards are chosen by a revolving group of 10 to 50 people picked by the

Night's Senior Awards Ceremony
This may not be the most fascinating story, but it's a story that I believe many students can relate to.
When it comes to school, we are always exposed to feelings of jealousy and envy towards students
who are smarter and have better grades than us. However, not because someone has more of
something, makes what you have any less significant and special.
On May 28th in my AP Literature class, my teacher handed out note cards for that night's Senior
$#$#1$#$# ceremony. My card had three numbers on it 7,9 and 21. Each number represents the
order in which a group of awards would be given out. For instance, since I had number 7 first, I was
part of the seventh group to go up on stage and receive an award. I was ecstatic to see which awards

I felt as if I was ,in a sense, finally measuring up to my peers. Once I sat back down, I started to
enjoy the ceremony more. I observed as the number ten group received their award for having over
1,000 hours of community service, the group eleven, then group twelve and so on. Patiently, I
awaited for Mr. Bravo to hold up the twenty one in order to receive my last award. When he finally
did, I stood up and began to walk toward the stage's stairs, but I noticed that I was the only one
there. The times I went up before, I could hear the sound of chairs folding up and students chattering
as they walk to get in line. But not this time. All you could here were the clicks of my heels. I began
to feel even more nervous now. I had absolutely no clue what the award was for. Why was I the only
one here. "Is it a special award? Did I read the number wrong? Was I in line for the wrong number?"
My mind began to overflow with these questions. This time my principle began with "Our next
award is being presented to a special student whom the counseling staff has chosen as this years
Champion of Character for her extraordinary high school growth." She then continued with
"Congratulations to Ms. Leslie Ruiz." I proceeded to walk on stage and receive my award. I was
very nervous as I stood on stage alone, but I also felt very honored and ecstatic to receive such a
special award. From a distance I could see my parents and my boyfriend as they

What sets a successful company apart from everyone in the industry? Is it the way of thinking
within a company that promotes the quest for continuous improvement or the value a company puts
on their customers' satisfaction with the company's product or service? There are many qualities that
make a company successful. Two examples of how successful companies demonstrate what it means
to be a successful is by who they are, as well as how they achieved a world–class performance level
in their respective industries. One successful company is Midway USA. They were the winner of the

What sets MidwayUSA apart from their competitors? MidwayUSA developed company key
measures, on which they base their success. They set customer satisfaction as their number one
company goal, and their success relative to their competitors is determined by their ability to meet
their company goals of customer satisfaction, employee satisfaction, vendor satisfaction, and
shareholder satisfaction, as well as their ability to execute their strategic plan. This also includes
their ability to achieve sustainability through the use of modern management practices.
MidwayUSA's overall customer satisfaction rating is 93 percent, with an overall retention rate of 98
percent and customer loyalty rate of 94 percent (MidwayUSA, 2009). MidwayUSA is doing an
excellent job of achieving their number one goal of customer satisfaction. The customer culture that
MidwayUSA has created is one of the best. This culture is driven from the top down, beginning with
the Founder and CEO. One example of their positive culture is that all salaried employees, including
the CEO and management, answer customer calls for an hour each week. This allows employees
direct contact with the customers, which aids them with customer focus. Another example is that
employees are rated based on how friendly, courteous, and respectful they are while providing an
ethical service (MidwayUSA, 2009). These evaluations and ratings are a determining factor in the

Essay On Participation Awards
How many participation awards do you have? Many children have them but do we need them. I
think too many children have them. If we give children participation awards, they get a false sense
of skill. This makes children less competitive, and they begin to expect awards. And while yes it
does boost confidence it doesn't reward proper effort.
Giving children too many participation awards gives them a false sense of skill. If they think they
are really good, they begin to think they are too good, and they will start to become narcissistic.
Overly praising them also makes it harder for the child to cope with losing. For example, if a child is
told they are always perfect they don't know what to do if they lose.

Malcom Baldridge National Quality Award
The Malcom Baldridge National Quality Award was established by the United States Congress in
1987 to raise awareness and recognize companies that practice quality management and have

The award is managed by the U.S. Commerce department's National Institute of Standards and

Grammy Awards had been the most coveted firm when it comes to rewarding who's hot and who's
about to set a trend in the world of music. Every year, people from all over the planet and artists
who have put forth their substantial contributions to keep the industry's momentum flowing look

charts while the supernova on the industry continue to reap more and more Gramophones as they
move along their career. For the 59th annual Grammy Awards, the mish–mash of potential artists
and acts to grab a nomination are well–analyzed and predicted, and much as we don't want to other

Bruno Mars's Music At The American Music Awards
Sunday night November 20, 2016. This is the night the American Music Awards (AMA's) opened in
2016. The American Music Awards is a huge event in the music industry. This event is sometimes
compared to the Grammys. As we all know, the opening and closing acts are the most important
because you have to start the show off right to get everyone in that good and exciting mood, then it
is also important to end the show with that special performance to remember until next year's event
comes. At the 2016 American Music Awards, Bruno Mars stole the show with this amazing opening

the first single to his brand new album 24k Magic. Mars always knows how ... Show more content

The stage performance is also a great factor into putting on a good show. That is no problem for
bruno mars. Bruno mars always has everyone moving when he steps onto the stage. Bruno mars
shows any gig he plays in that no matter how old you are, you will be on your feet dancing to the
music. Mars does this by coming up with great dance choreography and having great background
dancers to back him up. The entrance to the show needs to be perfect in order to get the audience
moving with you. He opened the show with amazing lights and hit the stage with his tight dance
moves with his other stage dancers. Each step was in unison with everyone else and it looked like no
one skipped a step. This perfection went on throughout the entire performance. When a different
beat came on, a new dance move came out. In the middle/ending of the song, the lights dimmed and
he appeared on the stage with four new dancers. The beat dropped and a new one came on for about
a minute of the performance. No singing went on and all there was was dancing. You can tell hours
went into just this little minute of the performance because the way he presented the dance was
abstract and you can tell that everyone was on beat and where they were suppose to be. Not many
singers can break it down in a dance like Bruno Mars did.
Mars connected to the audience members as well as people at home judging by all

2016 Oscar Awards Controversy
Summary The article explores the difference between 2016 Oscar Awards, which was surrounded by
controversy regarding the lack of diversity, and the 2017 show, which attempted to demonstrate
diversity. According to the post, there were no actors of color nominated for the Oscars for the last
two years, and the issue arose some debates in 2016. As a result, seven minority actors were
nominated, six of which were black. Denzel Washington became the most nominated black actor
after he received a nomination for his role in "Fences." On the other hand, Viola Davis is the most
nominated black actress for her supporting role in "Fences." Similarly, Octavia Spencer landed a
nominee for "Hidden Figures" while Naomie Harris landed one for "Moonlight." Other actresses

The 2016 Oscar nominations sparked a heated debate over why the show had only white nominees
and prompted the academy to address the lack of diversity. However, it is imperative to note that the
event only represents what is happening in Hollywood and the filming studios. If the industry does
not give opportunities to the minorities to shine, they are not likely to appear in the Oscars. As
several leaders in the sector of complained, the minority rarely get chances to work in front of the
camera, which defines their presence at the award shows and not just the Oscars. Nonetheless, it is a
diversity issue that deserves attention and should be remedied. It is a source of difference, especially
in a country that prides itself as a multicultural nation. The Oscars should embrace the diversity that
reflects the entirety of the nation and simply the majority. Moreover, such an action would
demonstrate to be beneficial not only to the United States but also the Oscar Academy, which will be

Each year our nation celebrates the achievement and contribution of eminent Australians through the
Australian of the Year Awards by profiling leading citizens who are role models for us all. They
inspire us through their achievements and challenge us to make our own contribution to creating a
better Australia. In this essay, I argue that the Australian of the Year Award is bound up with our

This is displayed through the selection criteria of the award. For example, to be chosen the nominee
must have a significant contribution to the Australian community and nation and availability and
commitment to promote national pride and active citizenship through the year of appointment. The
selection criteria also ensures that the person chosen presents the best of Australian qualities, and is
representative of our diverse nation. For example, consideration is given to all genders, ages,
locations, races and occupations.
I believe there is no such person as a 'real' Australian. The 21st century Australian refers to a very
broad range of people. In the past six years, recipients included: an equality advocate, a family
violence campaigner, an AFL player and community leader, a media icon, an oscar–winning actor, a
social entrepreneur and a mental health expert. All people from different backgrounds, of different
ages, genders and races. Even though everyone is unique and there may not seem to be a clear
Australian image anymore, I believe that there is still certain qualities that all of these people share,

Essay On Participation Awards
I believe that participation trophies should not be awarded in sports and activities. These awards
may be seen as a positive strategy, but they have multiple negatives. Participation awards do not
allow for children to learn how to receive criticism. They also do not allow for a competitive
environment and belittle the recognition of highly skilled kids. These negatives that come with
participation awards, in my opinion, outweigh the benefits. Supporters of participation awards
would state that children need praise or that they need to be encouraged to continue to do what they
enjoy. Children do need love and support, but in my opinion that support is highly effective when it
is given from the people themselves rather than through objects. The encouragement children feel is
also extraordinarily important, yet the criticism serves an important role also. Throughout, people
continually receive a greater amount of criticism than awards in life. It may not be to the same
degree as in adulthood, but ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

sports and activities. These awards account for a less competitive environment that hardly
recognizes the highly skilled kids. Participation trophies also do not allow for children to learn
criticism and how to react to it. Overall, children will not learn to continually set goals for
themselves to work towards. I believe that all of the negatives against participation awards add up to

Should Kids Get An Award Essay
Awards are given out to many kids for the same reason. These credulous kids are being taught that
everything you do can lead you to getting a trophy. Most children are given awards for being on
time, participation, showing up to practice, exetera. Teachers, parents, and coaches are all
responsible for this; showing that kids are awarded for something that does not deserve an award.
How would you feel if your kid grew up thinking that most of the things he/she does is enough to
get an award?
Kids all around the world are receiving the same awards as someone else. Teachers are giving kids
awards for showing up to class or participating in class. Children do not need to get an award for
doing little things like this in class, teachers should just tell them that they are doing good, and that
they should keep it up. In the article "Participation Trophies Send a Dangerous Message" by Betty
Berden, she talks about how kids should not acquire awards for doing these simple task. "Showing
up to work, attending class. Completing homework and trying my best at sports practice are
expected of me, not worthy of an award" (Berden 3) She shows in this sentence how these little ...

with the Engineer Regiment, the De Fluery, the Itschner, the Van Autreve, and the Sturgis. The

I touched on the supplemental nature of these awards. In my opinion making these awards
supplemental short changes the recipient, they have displayed superior proficiency and leadership
within the regiment. While they have been officially recognized by the award, it doesn't help them
achieve promotion above their peers, add promotion points to their promotion worksheet, or even
give them an addition ribbon for their rack. The awards are essentially the equivalent of a coin,
while you are being thanked for your superior service, they possess little benefit for the individual
toward promotion. Transitioning the regimental awards to a more official status could make the
awards more prestigious, inspire greater competition for the awards, and help recipients advance
within the regiment. All of these afore mentioned, benefit the Engineer Regiment as a whole, and
would help individuals demonstrating proficiency move through the ranks more rapidly than their

14. Army Regulation 600–8–22 (Military Awards) states the Air Medal is awarded in time of war for
heroism and for meritorious achievement or service while participating in aerial flight. This award is
primarily intended for personnel on flying status but may also be awarded to those personnel whose
combat duties require them to fly; for example, personnel in the attack elements of units involved in

recommendations, approval through the chain of command, and announcement in orders are

Participation Awards Bad
A belief is an acceptance or understanding that something thought or stated is true. Most people in
the world have a belief or a strong opinion about something in their lives. I have a strong belief
about various types of awards that can affect people in different ways. Awards are prizes given to
people who have achieved something great or been outstanding in an event. Awards can be given for
things such as: achievements in sports, obtaining a high grade point average in school, or even more
serious things like the Nobel Prize. Most often, awards are given to people who exceed expectations
and go above and beyond the requirements set before them. However, occasionally, awards can be
given to entire groups of people for participation alone, even when some of the people in those
groups do not deserve an award, which I strongly see as a negative thing. ... Show more content on

I presume this because participation awards can cause a recipient feel entitled to be given a tangible
reward for simply being involved in an event without necessarily giving any effort or making
progress towards achieving a common goal with the rest of the person's group. Another reason why I
think participation awards are a bad thing is because the awards sometimes cause a person to not try
as hard as he or she can, keeping the person from reaching his or her full potential. The final reason
why I see participation awards as a bad thing is because they should hold no value to owners
because they are too common. Many different factors have influenced me to feel this way including:
personal experiences, my parents, and professional football player, James Harrison. Participation
awards are bad for society in many different ways, and many factors have shaped me to feel this

The Honor Roll Award : The Outstanding Achievement Award
Ever since I was a little girl, father always told me that I was going to do "great things" with my life.
I suppose that he was right. It became increasingly noticeable, as early as Kindergarten, that I
possessed an intellectual skill set that was slightly more advanced than my fellow peers. I remember
my teachers paying special attention to me and even using my schoolwork as an example for the rest
of the class. My parents would constantly brag about me to their friends and coworkers. And at the
end of each school year I would walk away with all of the "most important" merit awards such as:
the Honor Roll Award, the Outstanding Achievement Award, Most Conscientious Student, and the
Most Dedicated Scholar Award given to select individuals that had maintained straight A's
throughout the year. In fact, my former principal once came up to me and said, "Stacy you are truly
a credit to the African American race. I'm so proud of you!" I didn't quite know what he'd meant by
that statement, so I just assumed it was some sort of compliment. One would probably expect that
this constant praise and adoration would inevitably lead to me to being overly self–confident,
egotistic, or maybe even slightly conceited. If only that were true. In reality, all of my lovely
academic success that I'd worked so very hard to achieve throughout the years resulted in nothing
but social isolation and an occasional snide remark from a few of my less academically driven peers.
I soon learned that being

Malcolm Baldrige Award
Introduction
The Malcolm Baldrige Award was created by congress in 1987 and signed by President Reagan to
recognize U.S organizations in healthcare, education, business, and nonprofit organizations for
performance excellence. During this time companies were striving to be the best, trying to top one
another in price, business, and quantity. Congress saw this increase and they wanted to set a
standard for the companies and award the ones that go above and beyond for their customers not
only in quality but also in customer service. The reason for this was many American companies did
not know about quality, nor implemented quality into their products. The award was named after

The Magnificent Mom Award
The Magnificent Mom Award
The sight of an unwavering smile, the pitter–patter of little feet, and the sound of a grateful friend
unable to give enough gratitude. To others, these may be completely random, but to me, they make
up my mom. My mom is always showing a smile no matter the situation. She has four children (one
of which is a one–year–old) to whom she teaches the lessons of life beautifully. My mom also
constantly has open arms for new friendships. The Magnificent Mom Award reflects her personality
as a loving person, mother, and friend.
My mom's smile never leaves her face, even in the toughest of situations, creating an expression of
positivity and love for others. Whenever those around her are saddened, she ignites their happiness
with her smile. Her smile can ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
She will never say no to a friend in need. She will bend over backward for her friends. For example,
she takes her friend's daughter to theater class an hour away (because her friend would still be at
work) every Monday. She also watches my little cousins every week along with her own kids to help
with my aunt and uncle's complicated schedule. My mom is also constantly giving to her friends.
She will give them passed down clothes, books, movies, and more. Many friends are often unable to
thank her enough. In conclusion, my mom is the example of what a true friend can be.
My mom deserves The Magnificent Mother Award because of her admirable ways of being an
astonishing person, mom, and friend. My mom will always pause for anybody, whether it is a
stranger, family member, or friend. She possesses many characteristics that make her my role model,
for example, her loyalty to everybody. My mom also has the quality of selflessness; she will give
anything for anyone. In conclusion, my mom deserves this award for her many qualities that make
her an ideal role model. Sometimes I wonder if I had a different mother what kind of person I would

Academy Award Essay
An Academy Award is a very prestigious award. In order to even be nominated, you have to have
been voted for 100 times. After the first film is nominated, "The counting continues, and actors or
different categories rack up redistributed votes until all five spots are filled." (mentalfloss.com). If
the voter doesn't fill all five spots on the ballot, it ends up being voided after there are no more
selections on it. After the nominations are made, in order to win the film or person has to be voted
on by the academy. Each member is allowed to vote only once in each category. If they don't fully
understand the category or haven't seen all the films in the category, they are discouraged from
voting. The ballots that are received by the academy are still hand counted. ... Show more content on

Trying to fix a diversity problem doesn't have an instant solution. The Academy is facing this and

I had conducted some valuable research on the effectiveness of a treatment method for this anxiety

managed to present my research to five new judges throughout the day and stand on a stage in front

persistence, and self–realization.
When I climbed back down from the stage to my seat after the other award recipients in my category

Importance Of Humanitarian Award
The Humanitarian award is an award given to someone who improves people's everyday lives for
the better. It inspires people to do great things around the world. It's earned by going out of your
way to be a better person not only for yourself but for everyone around you. That is why I would
nominate my Dad. My Dad is deserving of the Humanitarian award because he's a hard worker,
helps others, and is caring. When I say he is a hard worker I mean doesn't come home until 10,
works every day of the week, and doesn't stop until he gets everything done. My Dad is the baseball
coach at Loras he is very dedicated to his job. He has worked there for about 20 years and is still
going strong. Although they don't always win every game my Dad still has a positive attitude. After
he's had a rough game he goes home and tries to figure out ways to improve. Then gets right back
out there and tries again. He is always trying to improve as a coach. He teaches his players new

Lessons of Participation Awards In today's society, children think they need to be awarded for
participating in events. Participation awards do not always teach children the lessons they need to

The awards affect how the children will act later in their life. Children will always participate if it

Participation Awards Should Be Banned
The notion of participation awards in childhood activities have raised a spark debate; while
awarding each child with a uniform trophy supports equality, what's there to say about the
detrimental effect on motivation if everyone is labeled a winner? The expectation of an award or
certificate, in conclusion to any activity, is viewed as a guarantee; often, they serve as the sole
motivation point for those uninterested in the activity itself as they're aware they'll be a winner
regardless. This inflated sense of self–worth brought upon by miniscule awards, most especially
participation, leaves children unprepared for adult life as a functioning member of society. While
generous in thought, participation awards support a distorted view of reality ... Show more content

In developing nations, there are winners and losers; there are people who succeed in life, and people
who simply fail. This is an accepted thought amongst nations such as Brazil, China, India, and
Lebanon. The culture of these nations believes that there are no rewards for doing what is expected
of you. Simply showing up does not warrant you an award of any kind, it's the unique work ethic
and efforts you push yourself to achieve that result in success. For example, the culture of India
places a high importance on education; there are no rewards in place for students that simply show
up to class every day, which is merely an expectation you must uphold. In the United States, school
systems reward their students with participation trophies at the end of the year for merely showing
up! The award culture in the U.S. has altered the expectation of success within the nation; the
younger generation feels they're entitled to much more than they are possibly responsible enough
for. The culture of Middle Eastern, and Asian nations execute an entirely different expectation of
success; awards are reserved for those who exhibit unique traits and actions, not to those that simply
"participate" by showing up. These up–and–coming nations are quickly replacing America in several
industries, which is perhaps due to award system they have in place that only celebrate those that
work exceptionally

  • 3. Night's Senior Awards Ceremony This may not be the most fascinating story, but it's a story that I believe many students can relate to. When it comes to school, we are always exposed to feelings of jealousy and envy towards students who are smarter and have better grades than us. However, not because someone has more of something, makes what you have any less significant and special. On May 28th in my AP Literature class, my teacher handed out note cards for that night's Senior $#$#1$#$# ceremony. My card had three numbers on it 7,9 and 21. Each number represents the order in which a group of awards would be given out. For instance, since I had number 7 first, I was part of the seventh group to go up on stage and receive an award. I was ecstatic to see which awards I would ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I felt as if I was ,in a sense, finally measuring up to my peers. Once I sat back down, I started to enjoy the ceremony more. I observed as the number ten group received their award for having over 1,000 hours of community service, the group eleven, then group twelve and so on. Patiently, I awaited for Mr. Bravo to hold up the twenty one in order to receive my last award. When he finally did, I stood up and began to walk toward the stage's stairs, but I noticed that I was the only one there. The times I went up before, I could hear the sound of chairs folding up and students chattering as they walk to get in line. But not this time. All you could here were the clicks of my heels. I began to feel even more nervous now. I had absolutely no clue what the award was for. Why was I the only one here. "Is it a special award? Did I read the number wrong? Was I in line for the wrong number?" My mind began to overflow with these questions. This time my principle began with "Our next award is being presented to a special student whom the counseling staff has chosen as this years Champion of Character for her extraordinary high school growth." She then continued with "Congratulations to Ms. Leslie Ruiz." I proceeded to walk on stage and receive my award. I was very nervous as I stood on stage alone, but I also felt very honored and ecstatic to receive such a special award. From a distance I could see my parents and my boyfriend as they ... • 5. Malcolm Baldrige Awards Analysis & Recommendations of a... What sets a successful company apart from everyone in the industry? Is it the way of thinking within a company that promotes the quest for continuous improvement or the value a company puts on their customers' satisfaction with the company's product or service? There are many qualities that make a company successful. Two examples of how successful companies demonstrate what it means to be a successful is by who they are, as well as how they achieved a world–class performance level in their respective industries. One successful company is Midway USA. They were the winner of the Malcolm Baldrige Award in 2009 for small businesses, a second successful company is, the U.S. Army Armament Research, Development and Engineering Center (ARDEC) ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... What sets MidwayUSA apart from their competitors? MidwayUSA developed company key measures, on which they base their success. They set customer satisfaction as their number one company goal, and their success relative to their competitors is determined by their ability to meet their company goals of customer satisfaction, employee satisfaction, vendor satisfaction, and shareholder satisfaction, as well as their ability to execute their strategic plan. This also includes their ability to achieve sustainability through the use of modern management practices. MidwayUSA's overall customer satisfaction rating is 93 percent, with an overall retention rate of 98 percent and customer loyalty rate of 94 percent (MidwayUSA, 2009). MidwayUSA is doing an excellent job of achieving their number one goal of customer satisfaction. The customer culture that MidwayUSA has created is one of the best. This culture is driven from the top down, beginning with the Founder and CEO. One example of their positive culture is that all salaried employees, including the CEO and management, answer customer calls for an hour each week. This allows employees direct contact with the customers, which aids them with customer focus. Another example is that employees are rated based on how friendly, courteous, and respectful they are while providing an ethical service (MidwayUSA, 2009). • 7. Essay On Participation Awards How many participation awards do you have? Many children have them but do we need them. I think too many children have them. If we give children participation awards, they get a false sense of skill. This makes children less competitive, and they begin to expect awards. And while yes it does boost confidence it doesn't reward proper effort. Giving children too many participation awards gives them a false sense of skill. If they think they are really good, they begin to think they are too good, and they will start to become narcissistic. Overly praising them also makes it harder for the child to cope with losing. For example, if a child is told they are always perfect they don't know what to do if they lose. Giving children too many participation ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 15. Bruno Mars's Music At The American Music Awards Sunday night November 20, 2016. This is the night the American Music Awards (AMA's) opened in 2016. The American Music Awards is a huge event in the music industry. This event is sometimes compared to the Grammys. As we all know, the opening and closing acts are the most important because you have to start the show off right to get everyone in that good and exciting mood, then it is also important to end the show with that special performance to remember until next year's event comes. At the 2016 American Music Awards, Bruno Mars stole the show with this amazing opening of to the show. He performed with his so called "comeback song" known as 24k Magic. The stage performance is also a great factor into putting on a good show. That is no problem for bruno mars. Bruno mars always has everyone moving when he steps onto the stage. Bruno mars shows any gig he plays in that no matter how old you are, you will be on your feet dancing to the music. Mars does this by coming up with great dance choreography and having great background dancers to back him up. The entrance to the show needs to be perfect in order to get the audience moving with you. He opened the show with amazing lights and hit the stage with his tight dance moves with his other stage dancers. Each step was in unison with everyone else and it looked like no one skipped a step. This perfection went on throughout the entire performance. When a different beat came on, a new dance move came out. In the middle/ending of the song, the lights dimmed and he appeared on the stage with four new dancers. The beat dropped and a new one came on for about a minute of the performance. No singing went on and all there was was dancing. You can tell hours went into just this little minute of the performance because the way he presented the dance was abstract and you can tell that everyone was on beat and where they were suppose to be. According to the post, there were no actors of color nominated for the Oscars for the last two years, and the issue arose some debates in 2016. The 2016 Oscar nominations sparked a heated debate over why the show had only white nominees and prompted the academy to address the lack of diversity. However, it is imperative to note that the event only represents what is happening in Hollywood and the filming studios. As several leaders in the sector of complained, the minority rarely get chances to work in front of the camera, which defines their presence at the award shows and not just the Oscars. Nonetheless, it is a diversity issue that deserves attention and should be remedied. It is a source of difference, especially in a country that prides itself as a multicultural nation. The Oscars should embrace the diversity that reflects the entirety of the nation and simply the majority. Just in case you did not know, the Oscars back then lasted roughly about ten to fifteen minutes compared to almost four hour now days. Each of the six nominated awards were won by having the best well done effects, or you can say the background to it. It is not as easy to create any kind of movie and hope to get an Oscar Award. Anything does not seem to happen overnight that easy. Working had to achieve the dreams or the ways you would like for a best film could take months or even a few years. Each year our nation celebrates the achievement and contribution of eminent Australians through the Australian of the Year Awards by profiling leading citizens who are role models for us all. They inspire us through their achievements and challenge us to make our own contribution to creating a better Australia. In this essay, I argue that the Australian of the Year Award is bound up with our sense of nationhood and presents the best of Australian qualities, there is no such thing as a 'real' Australian and the Australian image is still relevant, nobody is marginalised through the Australian of the Year Award, it is so much more than just a pat on the back, and most ... For example, consideration is given to all genders, ages, locations, races and occupations. I believe there is no such person as a 'real' Australian. The 21st century Australian refers to a very broad range of people. In the past six years, recipients included: an equality advocate, a family violence campaigner, an AFL player and community leader, a media icon, an oscar–winning actor, a social entrepreneur and a mental health expert. • 29. Essay On Participation Awards I believe that participation trophies should not be awarded in sports and activities. These awards may be seen as a positive strategy, but they have multiple negatives. Participation awards do not allow for children to learn how to receive criticism. They also do not allow for a competitive environment and belittle the recognition of highly skilled kids. These negatives that come with participation awards, in my opinion, outweigh the benefits. Supporters of participation awards would state that children need praise or that they need to be encouraged to continue to do what they enjoy. Children do need love and support, but in my opinion that support is highly effective when it is given from the people themselves rather than through objects. The encouragement children feel is also extraordinarily important, yet the criticism serves an important role also. Most children are given awards for being on time, participation, showing up to practice, exetera. Teachers, parents, and coaches are all responsible for this; showing that kids are awarded for something that does not deserve an award. How would you feel if your kid grew up thinking that most of the things he/she does is enough to get an award? Kids all around the world are receiving the same awards as someone else. Teachers are giving kids awards for showing up to class or participating in class. Children do not need to get an award for doing little things like this in class, teachers should just tell them that they are doing good, and that they should keep it up. In the article "Participation Trophies Send a Dangerous Message" by Betty Berden, she talks about how kids should not acquire awards for doing these simple task. "Showing up to work, attending class. Most people in the world have a belief or a strong opinion about something in their lives. I have a strong belief about various types of awards that can affect people in different ways. Awards are prizes given to people who have achieved something great or been outstanding in an event. Awards can be given for things such as: achievements in sports, obtaining a high grade point average in school, or even more serious things like the Nobel Prize. Most often, awards are given to people who exceed expectations and go above and beyond the requirements set before them. The final reason why I see participation awards as a bad thing is because they should hold no value to owners because they are too common. It's the altered mindset that this entire research experience has brought me that I value the most and what I will remember for the rest of my life. Helping out kids with a relatively ... • 65. Importance Of Humanitarian Award The Humanitarian award is an award given to someone who improves people's everyday lives for the better. It inspires people to do great things around the world. It's earned by going out of your way to be a better person not only for yourself but for everyone around you. That is why I would nominate my Dad. My Dad is deserving of the Humanitarian award because he's a hard worker, helps others, and is caring. When I say he is a hard worker I mean doesn't come home until 10, works every day of the week, and doesn't stop until he gets everything done. My Dad is the baseball coach at Loras he is very dedicated to his job. He has worked there for about 20 years and is still going strong. Although they don't always win every game my Dad still has a positive attitude. After he's had a rough game he goes home and tries to figure out ways to improve. Then gets right back out there and tries again. He is always trying to improve as a coach. He teaches his players new techniques and skills to better their game. I love seeing the great relationships he has with his players. After all this only one reason why I would nominate my dad for this award. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Once he finally got the hang of how to do it he showed me tricks and tips he learned that I could use to make it easier for me. We sat down together and did every single problem until I knew how to do it on my own. I will forever be grateful for my father's ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 67. Participation Awards Research Paper Participation awards encourage involvement by recognizing the hard work of everyone involved, which is why they shouldn't be seen as pity awards that students don't deserve. By rewarding participation, you applaud the effort and hard work of the deserving winners, but also the hundreds of other competitors who put forth their best effort. Unfortunately, parents like James Harrison don't understand the purpose or benefit of participation awards, resulting in the stigma around them. James confiscated his son's award saying that "these trophies will be given back until they EARN a trophy," and "sometimes your best is not good enough," but often, your best effort is enough. You're not always going to be the best, even if you try your hardest, and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 71. Participation Awards Lessons of Participation Awards In today's society, children think they need to be awarded for participating in events. Participation awards do not always teach children the lessons they need to learn. Participation awards can always be great, but it is not teaching the children the lessons we want them to learn. "We must focus on process and progress, not results and rewards," (Merryman). The awards affect how the children will act later in their life. Children will always participate if it meant they would receive an award. Some would just join, not try, and just participate just to get the award afterwards. • 77. Participation Awards Should Be Banned The notion of participation awards in childhood activities have raised a spark debate; while awarding each child with a uniform trophy supports equality, what's there to say about the detrimental effect on motivation if everyone is labeled a winner? The expectation of an award or certificate, in conclusion to any activity, is viewed as a guarantee; often, they serve as the sole motivation point for those uninterested in the activity itself as they're aware they'll be a winner regardless. This inflated sense of self–worth brought upon by miniscule awards, most especially participation, leaves children unprepared for adult life as a functioning member of society. While generous in thought, participation awards support a distorted view of reality ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In developing nations, there are winners and losers; there are people who succeed in life, and people who simply fail. This is an accepted thought amongst nations such as Brazil, China, India, and Lebanon. The culture of these nations believes that there are no rewards for doing what is expected of you. Simply showing up does not warrant you an award of any kind, it's the unique work ethic and efforts you push yourself to achieve that result in success. For example, the culture of India places a high importance on education; there are no rewards in place for students that simply show up to class every day, which is merely an expectation you must uphold. In the United States, school systems reward their students with participation trophies at the end of the year for merely showing up! The award culture in the U.S. has altered the expectation of success within the nation; the younger generation feels they're entitled to much more than they are possibly responsible enough for. The culture of Middle Eastern, and Asian nations execute an entirely different expectation of success; awards are reserved for those who exhibit unique traits and actions, not to those that simply "participate" by showing up. These up–and–coming nations are quickly replacing America in several industries, which is perhaps due to award system they have in place that only celebrate those that work exceptionally ...
