The conflict and functional analysis theories explains the trend
in the increase in schooling for the purposes of attaining
employment especially in advanced industrialize society.
The functional theory is based on the idea that educational
needs is giving a reflection of the demands in the improved
skills on job as a result of the technical change.
Conflict theory propose that the employment requirements is
reflecting on the efforts of the competing status groups to
monopolize employment
The monopolization occurs through imposing cultural standards
on the selection process.
In the United States, there is a dynamic educational
requirement.
This has been basically associated with the increase in mobility
opportunities through school system as opposed to the
independent changes in the job structure.
United states is among the top industrialized nation which
demands skills and knowledge from its employers to match the
growing technological demands (Cian & Amann, 2019).
