In the know…• Tentative 2012-13 furloughs days:• For the first semester, the furlough days will be: Friday, August 31, 2012 (regular school day) Friday, October 26, 2012 (regular school day) Tuesday, November 6, 2012 (regular school day & Election Day)• In the event that there are no regularly scheduled days of school cancelled this winter due to inclement weather, the furlough day for the second semester will be: Friday, March 29, 2013 (regular school day)

Lunch & Study Hall Etowah is on the same (7) period day as all of the other CCSD high Schools. Instructional days lost (4 total) due to furloughs will require the school day to be extended to 2:38 (Dismissal) A (7) period day offer students a full lunch period unless … > All freshmen who have a 73 or lower at the first progress report will spend half on their lunch period in mandatory tutoring. Freshmen can earn their way out of mandatory lunch time tutoring by bringing their grade over a 73 by the 9 week report card. All students are welcome to visit the Media Center before school, during their lunch, and after school. Seniors also can go to their Senior Lounge/Coffee Shop before school & during their lunch period.

College & Career Ready Performance Index (CCRPI) & Teacher/Leader Keys Evaluation System (TKES/LKES)• CCRPI = How schools will be “graded” under the NCLB waiver• TKES = How teachers will be evaluated starting this year• LKES = How administrators will be evaluated this year  These components are all part of RT3 (Race To The Top)
