Dick Fosbury is an American track and field athlete who revolutionized the high jump by inventing a new method, the “back-first” technique. He bucked the conventions of the day to develop a high jumping style called the Fosbury Flop. Initially, he was mocked in the media as an oddity, but now all high jumpers use his technique. UX Strategists and designers can learn a few things from Dick -- how to take chances, experiment and never settle for "what is" but ask "what if..."

    3. Here’s Dick setting an Olympic high jump record with a height of 2.24 meters (7’ 4.25”) at the 1968 summer Olympics in Mexico City.
