  1. 1. Finger Plays & Rhymes <ul><li>Children enjoy rhythm, rhyme and word play. </li></ul><ul><li>Finger plays excite movement, listening, and verbal skills. </li></ul>

Thumbkin <ul><li>Where is Thumpkin; where is Thumpkin? </li></ul><ul><li>(Hide hands behind back) </li></ul><ul><li>Here I am (bring out 1 hand). </li></ul><ul><li>Here I am (Bring out the other). </li></ul><ul><li>How are you today, sir? (Nod 1 thumb) </li></ul><ul><li>Very well, I thank you (Nod other). </li></ul><ul><li>Run away, run away (Hide hands). </li></ul>

  11. 11. Being Kind (1) <ul><li>I want to be kind as I can be, </li></ul><ul><li>With all my friends and family. </li></ul><ul><li>I’m not going to punch, </li></ul><ul><li>Or hit or shove. </li></ul><ul><li>I’ll treat them with kindness </li></ul><ul><li>And with love. </li></ul>

Listening & Obeying <ul><li>I try to listen and obey, </li></ul><ul><li>All the things the teachers say. </li></ul><ul><li>Like being quiet and paying attention, </li></ul><ul><li>And then I can follow the directions. </li></ul><ul><li>I’ll try to do all the things I should, </li></ul><ul><li>My teacher (mother, father) will be proud of me for trying to be good. </li></ul>

The WIGGLES (1) <ul><li>I wiggle my fingers, I wiggle my toes. </li></ul><ul><li>(do a motion and stop) </li></ul><ul><li>I wiggle my shoulders, I wiggle my nose. </li></ul><ul><li>(do another motion, stop) </li></ul><ul><li>Now no more wiggles are left in me. </li></ul><ul><li>(whisper) </li></ul><ul><li>So I will be still as still can be. </li></ul>
