Energy-efficient Skirting Heating Systems

Introducing Climaboard®, a highly responsive, cost effective skirting heating system that works with boilers, heat pumps or electric power.

* Healthy heat - no micro dust nor oxygen depletion
* Easier to install and more responsive than Underfloor
* Better heat distribution than radiators - no hot or cold spots
* Gets heat right into the corners
* Ideal for renovations - easily retrofittable
* Most powerful skirting in its class - over 260 W/M at 60c

With its system of twin 15mm copper pipes connected to aluminium fins by means of close-fitting flanged joints, Climaboard ST delivers heat in an extremely efficient manner, providing over 200 watts per meter at input water temperature of 65oC! And now there's the new Power Plus version that packs an amazing 30% more energy into the same compact profile! On top of that, there's Climaboard DUO - with its clever arrangement of 4 parallel 15mm copper pipes in just 250 x 30mm profile that quite literally delivers double the power - that's nearly 400 Watts/metre!

  6. 6. www.skirtingheating.co.uk Energy-efficient Skirting Heating  Efficient heat delivery  Highly responsive  Even heat distribution  Unobtrusive  Excellent for Renovation Projects  Works with gas, oil, heat pumps, solar power (or just electricity) 6
  7. 7. www.skirtingheating.co.uk “Like the gentle warmth of the sun”  Great feeling of comfort at low average temperature  No hot or cold spots  Heats from the lowest point upwards  Doesn’t deplete oxygen in the room  No “hot foot” syndrome  Doesn’t spread microdust 7
  8. 8. www.skirtingheating.co.uk Quick and Efficient Control  Rapid warm up  only .266 litres/metre of water  doesn’t need to heat the floor slab  It’s its own heat distribution system  no pipes to hide  heats the room, not the ceiling 8
  9. 9. www.skirtingheating.co.uk Easily retro-fitted  Uses standard 15mm components  Can fit to radiator provisions  Surface mount where no provisions  No need to replace floor  Electrical resistance version needs no boiler 9
  10. 10. www.skirtingheating.co.uk The Coanda Effect Named after its discover, Romanian aerodynamicist Henri-Marie Coanda (1885-1972) “Coanda effect or wall-attachment effect, the tendency of a moving fluid, either liquid or gas, to attach itself to a surface and flow along it. As a fluid moves across a surface a certain amount of friction (called “skin friction”) occurs between the fluid and the surface, which tends to slow the moving fluid. This resistance to the flow of the fluid pulls the fluid towards the surface, causing it stick to the surface.” - Columbia Encyclopedia 10
  11. 11. www.skirtingheating.co.uk The Coanda Effect - applied  Fit skirting to exterior walls  Warms and dries the wall  Forms insulating layer  Heat radiates from the walls  Warmed air circulates  Works well even on badly insulated walls! 11
  12. 12. www.skirtingheating.co.uk No Hot or Cold Spots 12
  13. 13. www.skirtingheating.co.uk How does it compare to radiators? Spreads heat evenly - no wasted heat above the radiators. 13
  14. 14. www.skirtingheating.co.uk How does it compare to UFH?  Quicker response  No slab to warm up (or cool down!)  Much less water to warm  More even temperature distribution  Can use with real wood floors  No problems with carpet underlay  Easily retrofitted  Easier to install, repair or modify 14
  15. 15. www.skirtingheating.co.uk How does it compare to other skirting systems?  Highest output in a compact system:  Climaboard ST = 198W/mtr at 60oC  Climaboard Power Plus = 227W/mtr at 60oC  Climaboard DUO = 317W/mtr at 60oC  Climaboard DUO PP = 363W/mtr at 60oC  Needs less  Runs more efficiently  Uses standard 15mm copper piping  Water only ever in contact with copper  A standard plumbing solution for every situation  Aluminium fins warm the air internally  Lower surface temperature - <43oC at 80oC Flow  Flexible mounting of components  Less noise 15
