Goal: To improve the professional & academic prospects of
high school students in underserved communities in India.
Impact:
 Building capacity for developing technology enhanced,
active learning in STEM high school curriculum
 Developing a new cadre of STEM teachers
 Developing a model for world-class engagement

MIT’s Mission The mission of MIT is to advance knowledge and educate students in science, technology, and other areas of scholarship that will best serve the nation and the world in the 21st century.   • 5. Connected Learning Initiative (CLIx) Goal: To improve the professional & academic prospects of high school students in underserved communities in India. Impact:  Building capacity for developing technology enhanced, active learning in STEM high school curriculum  Developing a new cadre of STEM teachers  Developing a model for world-class engagement 5
  • 6. Key Things, CLIx  In 2017 & 2018: 4 States, 460 schools, 2,300 teachers, 27,000 students  Collaboration led by MIT, Tata Institute for Social Sciences and Tata Trusts 6 clix.tiss.edu Feb. 2015 – Jan. 2018+ GRADES
  • 8. Open Learning Scholars (OLS) Goal: To expand access to and use of digital learning environments in STEM for learners worldwide, and especially in the Arab world. Impact:  Leveraging digital (online) learning in the Arab world, especially for displaced populations  Building capacity in Arab universities through blended learning curricula  Developing new pathways for professional learning (through MicroMasters programs) 8

Support for educational transformation and capacity building through blended learning (using MITx and local courses) at Arab world Universities (American University of Beirut and American University inCairo) 3.   • 11. SRM University Goal: Launch new degree programs leveraging MITx and OCW courses. Impact:  Develop models of integrating MITx (and OCW) courses into (new) degree programs at other universities.  Capacity building with SRM University faculty to teach using MITx courses as a model 11
  • 12. 2 Things, SRM University 1. Licensing 8.01x, 8.02x, 18.01x, 18.02x, 6.00x, 6.002x, 6.004x and 2.01x for teaching at SRM University via CCX* 2. Expect 7,800 seats to form a base for 4 new engineering degree programs 12 *Custom course where SRM University faculty teach using MITx course materials without direct involvement of MIT faculty or MITx staff Website: N/A May 2017 – July 2020

  • 14. Hong Kong Design Camp Goal: To share MIT’s Mens et Manus approach to learning to children and educators from Chinese International School and other local schools. Impact:  Sharing excitement of “mind and hand” with Hong Kong schoolchildren through design camps in 2017 & 2018 14 Website: N/A Summer 2017 & Summer 2018
