Carbohydrates• Not enough Carbohydrates in the diet =decrease in performance.• You don’t need to stock up on onlycarbohydrate rich foods, but they should be~60% of total caloric intake.• Fuel your body according to the size of yourgas tank. Timing of HydrationResearch• When dehydrated impaired performance includes impairedlateral movement, impaired shooting by 15%, impairedsprinting.• Using a Water/Gatorade combination improved efficiencyof movement, improved shooting by 10%, and improvedsprinting by 7% (or 3 seconds faster).72
