Check in at The Drop Zone Gear Store <ul><li>Complete a Registration and Waiver (Please update any information that has changed on your previous registration) </li></ul><ul><li>Provide your reserve packing date or arrange for rental gear </li></ul><ul><li>Put funds on your account </li></ul><ul><li>Please make all payments and transfers at the store counter </li></ul>

Check Your Gear <ul><li>Always check your gear thoroughly before putting it on </li></ul><ul><li>Put your rig on completely before boarding the aircraft </li></ul><ul><li>Check your handles as you approach jump altitude </li></ul><ul><li>Our safety policy requires everyone with less than 100 jumps to: </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Wear a hard helmet </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Real shoes </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>No weights </li></ul></ul>

Manifesting <ul><li>Manifest at the outside window </li></ul><ul><li>Give your name to the manifestor the same as it is in your account </li></ul><ul><li>Tell the manifestor what type of skydive you plan and any special code to apply </li></ul><ul><li>Find out the aircraft and load number </li></ul><ul><li>Listen for announcements and watch the load timers for your call </li></ul><ul><li>Go to the boarding area on the 5 minute call </li></ul>
  8. 8. Aircraft Boarding <ul><li>Board in reverse exit order </li></ul><ul><li>1. Lower altitudes exit first </li></ul><ul><li>2. Larger groups ahead of smaller groups </li></ul><ul><li>3. RW ahead of sit-fly & head-down groups </li></ul><ul><li>4. Solos based on time and distance under canopy </li></ul><ul><li>5. Track dives and CRW </li></ul><ul><li>6. AFF </li></ul><ul><li>7. Tandems last </li></ul><ul><li>Sit down immediately, slide back, fasten your safety belt </li></ul><ul><li>Remove your safety belt above 1,000 ft </li></ul><ul><li>Be ready to jump, our aircraft climb fast </li></ul>

Exit <ul><li>Follow the pilot’s instructions </li></ul><ul><li>Open the door on the red light </li></ul><ul><li>Operate the door with care </li></ul><ul><li>Check the airspace and spot </li></ul><ul><li>Exit only on the green light </li></ul><ul><li>Maintain adequate separation between groups </li></ul><ul><li>Stay clear of clouds </li></ul>

Freefall <ul><li>Maintain altitude awareness </li></ul><ul><li>Break-off as planned </li></ul><ul><li>Track as needed to assure safe separation for opening </li></ul><ul><li>Open at the appropriate altitude -Advance coordination with manifest required for openings above 5500’ -Expect low altitude passes to be restricted when 3 aircraft are flying </li></ul>

Canopy Control <ul><li>Scan the airspace to keep clear of others </li></ul><ul><li>Stay clear of clouds </li></ul><ul><li>Continuously determine if you can make your landing area </li></ul><ul><li>If necessary, pick an alternate landing area EARLY </li></ul><ul><li>Pick your landing direction EARLY </li></ul><ul><li>Land away from pavement – Stay in the grass </li></ul><ul><li>Cross runways above 1000 feet only </li></ul><ul><li>Maximum turn for landing is 180 o except with prior coordination </li></ul><ul><li>Avoid crossing traffic during landing approach </li></ul>
  12. 12. **Landing** <ul><li>Land in an area appropriate for your experience and skill </li></ul><ul><li>Fly a left or right pattern to avoid crossing the mid-line of the landing area </li></ul><ul><li>Go with the traffic flow </li></ul><ul><li>Land on the SAME HEADING, going the SAME DIRECTION as those ahead of you </li></ul><ul><li>Make and keep your approach over a clear, obstacle free area – NOT over people, buildings, or cars </li></ul><ul><li>Land outside the safety line, away from obstacles </li></ul>

  17. 17. After Landing <ul><li>A truck will pick you up if you land in the student area or further out </li></ul><ul><li>Stop and look both ways before crossing runways and taxiways </li></ul><ul><li>Packers are available in the hangars </li></ul>

The Perfect Spot <ul><li>Open all day and evening for meals, snacks, and beverages </li></ul><ul><li>Express items are available </li></ul><ul><li>12 packs and cases available for obligations and convenience </li></ul><ul><li>No alcohol until you are done jumping </li></ul><ul><li>Shoes and shirt are required at all times in the restaurant </li></ul>
