  6. 6. How to arrange images and timeline 5 app boxes for nice presentation. • Make sure you have enabled the preview of Timeline on your Facebook page by clicking the blue “preview” you will see at the top of every fan page that has not yet migrated to Timeline. • Click the down arrow at the right hand side of the currently visible apps just underneath your page name and cover photo space to reveal all of your former tabs, now referred to as “views and apps” in Facebook language. • Select the app you would like to customize and mouse over the upper right hand corner to reveal a pencil. Click the pencil to reveal a drop down menu. • Go all the way to the bottom of the drop down menu and click on “edit settings.”http://Facebook.com/BloomDigitalMedia Copyright Bloom Digital Media, Inc.
  7. 7. 6 • You’ll now see a box that allows you to name the app and a link to change the custom image. After keying in the new name of your app, click on the “Change” link. • You’ll be taken to a page where you can upload a custom image. Click on the “Change” link on this page. • The familiar “Browse” option will pop onto the screen allowing you to upload an image from your desktop. Facebook recommends 111 px wide by 74 px high and will resize and convert images that are larger. I’ve had great luck with 280 x 180 sized images. Select the desired image from your computer and upload. There is no save button. Don’t waste time looking for it. Now go back to your page and look at the box image. The customized image is in place. • That’s all there is to it. You can change these images whenever you like and you can feature a new set of custom apps “above the fold” on Facebook Fan Pages whenever you like.http://Facebook.com/BloomDigitalMedia Copyright Bloom Digital Media, Inc.
  8. 8. 7 How to Check and register unique URL for the page • Log in into your Facebook account in the usual way. • Type the following into the web browser: http://www.facebook.com/username. • Each page you run as admin can have a user name – So using the drop- down box, select the fan page you wish to create a Facebook URL for and then check the availability in the box below. • If your name is available select Confirm from the dialog box. IMPORTANT - PLEASE NOTE THIS CAN ONLY BE DONE ONCE! CHOOSE YOUR USERNAME CAREFULLY WITH NO TYPOS!http://Facebook.com/BloomDigitalMedia Copyright Bloom Digital Media, Inc.
  9. 9. 8 How To Track Your Facebook Traffic: • Assuming you already have a Google Analytics Account, set up a new website profile, titling the new profile “Facebook,” “Facebook/URL” or something you’ll know is your Facebook analytics. Be sure to find and copy the UA code provided once you set up the new profile. • Because Facebook allows for limited Javascript (whereas Google Analytics required a more robust use of Javascript), you’ll need to create an image of each Facebook page you want to track. Luckily, Webdigi has a Google Analytics link generator for Facebook pages (http://ga.webdigi.co.uk/) available for free use • Copy the entire Webdigi code provided into the part of the Fan Page you are tracking. (For instance, if you want to track your coupon tab, discount tab and special offers tab you’ll need a separate code for each page.) You’ll need to paste the code in an FBML on that page, below whatever HTML you may have used in the FBMLhttp://Facebook.com/BloomDigitalMedia Copyright Bloom Digital Media, Inc.
  10. 10. 9• To track your Facebook Fan Page Wall, you’ll need to create an FBML page which can be transferred into a box that appears on the left hand side of your wall. One of the best ways to do this is to post a list of resources or links, embedding the Webdigi below your HTML.• Google Analytics will take approximately 24 hours to confirm your code and begin to report results. Once the checkmark appears next to the name you’ve designated for your Facebook Google Analytics, you will be able to measure metrics above and beyond what Facebook Insights provides.http://Facebook.com/BloomDigitalMedia Copyright Bloom Digital Media, Inc.
  11. 11. 10http://Facebook.com/BloomDigitalMedia Copyright Bloom Digital Media, Inc.
  12. 12. 11 How to get into the Profile Dashboard • Click on the My Profile button, where youll see that all the sections are empty. You dont have to fill out every field; in fact, you can leave them all blank if you so choose, but a complete profile leads to higher serch rank recognition for your brand’s keywords. Remember, Facebook is public, so think before you enter personal information.http://Facebook.com/BloomDigitalMedia Copyright Bloom Digital Media, Inc.
  13. 13. 12 Brief Overview of adding other apps to the timeline • First step is finding app(s) that interests you. Fortunately, Facebook has dedicated directory of Apps for Timeline. You can browse different apps available across various categories like Entertainment, Fitness, Food, Giving, Music, News, Shopping, Fashion and Travel. • Once you select an App that you want to install on timeline format profile, click Install button located on Apps description page. Make sure you give permission to selected app to access your basic profile information for its functioning.http://Facebook.com/BloomDigitalMedia Copyright Bloom Digital Media, Inc.
  14. 14. 13• By default, apps will post the usage activity on your profile page which is visible to other friends. You can customize and configure to stop app activity posting for all or specific apps of your choice.• You can easily remove any app activity listing from timeline profile. Just click Activity Log button at top right side of timeline profile page and then click to select ‘hide from timeline’ option next to item you want to hide from timeline profile.http://Facebook.com/BloomDigitalMedia Copyright Bloom Digital Media, Inc.
  15. 15. 14 5 Bonus Tips on getting more traffic to the Facebook page: • Interacting With Fans…Regularly commenting and adding useful tips, photos and news clips about your industry adds value to your followers and encourages comments, which others see and may come to look too! • Update Regularly…3- 5 time a week is great, but once or twice a day is better! Remember to keep it relevant and not sales pitchy. • Add A Facebook Like Button On Your Blog and post your Facebook page address on other sales materials, business cards and mentions about your business in articles or events. • Help And Encourage Your Fans…Again, the easiest thing to do is add useful tips or ask questions that might get fans to comment and interact. Remember, it’s Social so be sociable! • ADD FREEBIES and DISCOUNTS – This Is Possibly The Most Powerful tool…everyone “likes” and usually responds to a good deal!http://Facebook.com/BloomDigitalMedia Copyright Bloom Digital Media, Inc.
  16. 16. BONUS TIP: Quickly Set-Up A Linked In Profile and Join IndustryRelated Groups. Several groups have an invitation area to listyour Facebook Page; this is a great way to spark new visitorsand generate referrals back to your New Facebook page… • Create a LinkedIn account and profile by entering your personal and professional information and pressing the "Join Now" button or open your existing LinkedIn account. • Go to your home page and find the "My Profile" category within the site map and click on the "Edit My Public Profile" link. • Create your public profile via the "Edit My Public Profile” link. • Keep the current URL designated to you or choose your own. • Customize your URL by entering 5 to 30 alphabet letters, numbers or a mix of both. Only follow this step if you did not pick to keep the designated URL. • Click on the "Set Address" button to personalize your URL address. • Press the "Save Changes" button to successfully update your public profile. • Also, share your Facebook Link on your Facebook Timeline to cross-build your business connection network.
