Tiger Woods has created a new golfing event that allows amateur golfers to compete on some of the top courses in the game. The Tiger Woods Charity Playoffs will be a five-month long series for recreational golfers that will allow participants to play on eight golf courses, including Congressional and Merion, with a final event in Orlando for top players and fundraisers. In an email from his foundation, Woods said, "My foundation provides really awesome experiences, and this event allows all golfers to play cool courses for charity." The Tiger Woods Foundation is an educational charity that maintains seven learning centers around the country, a summer academy, and the Earl D. Woods Scholarship program. The learning centers provide interactive programs in a variety of subject matter that aim to help students focus on the role of education in their lives. The Earl D. Woods Scholarship is a need-based scholarship that provides awards of $5,000 to high school seniors who have strong academic and community service backgrounds.
