Email Marketing Tips Part 1

Today, I want to talk to you guys about something that is so vital to your business that if
you’re not doing this, you were led to like leaving a gold mine on the table. And what I’m
talking about is Email Marketing. If you’re not implementing email marketing as a strategy
in your business, you’re behind the times, my friends. And here’s why I say that.
It has been proven, there’s been a lot of business studies out there that have proven that
building a solid targeted list of engaged people and subscribers, you’re going to get a return
on that or ROI or return on investment on that of over 4,000%, or 4,000% ROI from a solid
Now, if you compare that, you guys, to something like real estate, mutual fund, stocks and
bonds, etc., 401K plans, I guarantee they’re not 4,000%. So this is very, very important and
so once you build a solid list and whatever niche it is – health and fitness, real estate,
Internet marketing, make-money lists – whatever it is, the powerful thing about that is you
can now market to those people till the end of time. So it’s kind of like if you want job
security, build a solid list and your target market and you will have job security because you
can market to them for years and years and years, solid and relevant products whether
they’re your own or someone else’s and you will make money.
Now, one of the other important things about this is, on average, and this is already
statistically proven, you’re going to make about $1 for a subscriber on your list. That’s a
proven fact. So, of course not everyone as they go through your sales funnel is going to
purchase your products or services, all at the same time, but it averages out to about a
dollar for subscribers.
So let’s just say you want to make $5,000 or $10,000 a month. Build a list of 5,000 or 10,000
people and offer them relevant products or services that they’re interested in and you will
be making $5,000, $10,000+ a month if you follow some great tips. But if you want to build
a big list like I have in my business and make some solid money, there are some things that I
wanted to cover with you guys real quickly.
If you want to decide on your communication schedule and stick to it. What I mean by that
is that you have to decide how often are you going to communicate with this list of yours
and what type of engagement do you want or what type of engagement are you going to
have at your end with that list. This is very, very important.
Some of you might say right now “You know I don’t want to bother people too much, so I’ll
just email them…may be once every 3 or 4 days or once a week”. And I know where that’s
coming from. That’s really from fear because I used to think the same way when I first got
started in this. But here’s something that I recommend and I’ll tell you why in just a
moment. But I recommend that you literally email your list twice a day. Okay, twice a day,
email your list and I must explain why.
Now, the first time you email your list, you want it to be your newsletter. You want to
provide some type of value, some tips, some strategies, and so forth, the first time early on
in the day. Early in the day you want to do that and then later in the evening or in the
afternoon, email them an offer some kind of service or product that’s relevant to the
Now this part is very important because what happens sometimes people are afraid to
make offers. They’re just emailing constantly providing value or talking and communicating
to their list, but they never make an offer and guess what. If you’re not making money or
making sales, you don’t really have a business. You’re just really building a social network.
So don’t be afraid to offer people something because the value of your products and
services could change that person’s life and make a difference and they will appreciate you
selling them something that is relevant to them and that will help make a difference in their
Now 98% of emails that are sent are commercial content, meaning, they are of commercial
intent, so people are trying to make sales and promote something. 45% of that 98% are
newsletter which is why I said send a newsletter in the morning and only 2% you guys are
conversational. That means only 2% of emails that are sent out there are just to get to know
each other. You’re trying to get to know your audience, they’re trying to get to know you,
etc. That’s only 2% because people are really out there to build a business. Solid
entrepreneurs are doing that.
Now, the reason that I say email your list every day – there has been a study where a lot of
the top multimillionaires online were interviewed and guess what, every single one of them
emailed their list every single day. Every single day without question, they communicated to
their list. So when I saw that, I immediately switched gears and started emailing my list
every single day and guess what. The results are phenomenal.
Here’s why, because you always want to be in front of your audience because someone else
is going to be in front of them. So you want to make sure that you become a household
name to that subscriber and they know who you are. So that’s very important.
People buy from people that they know, like, and trust. So, how do you make that happen?
How do you make people know you, like you, and trust you? Well, number one is you want
to demonstrate your credibility. You want to demonstrate the value that you can bring to
their life and to the market place and your expertise. Now, the way that you can do this is
through free reports. You can give them free reports that give them valuable information
on how they can change their lives. If you’re in the health and fitness industry, how they
can shed more belly fat or whatever it is. Or if you’re an Internet marketer, you can teach
them some strategies – How to do Facebook marketing and etc. So free reports, we have, I
don’t know, how many landing pages out there with our free reports, so we may get leads
in every single day of our business.
Videos are very important. As you guys can see because I’m doing a video right now that I
love using videos. Why? Because you’re going to get more engagement, because people get
to know you and see you and know your personality when you’re doing videos and people
are naturally more visual. People would rather watch a video than read a bunch of text. So
if you send out emails that include a video that they can watch and click on and watch, you
going to get more engagement and more clicks and they will get to know you more and
then they’re going to buy more from you.
Interviews with experts – we do a lot of that in our business as well. That’s some brilliant
way to bring value to your market place. Webinars are huge, guys. If you’re not
implementing webinars in your new business, you’re missing that as well. So provide
webinars or podcasts for your subscribers as well. We do that every single week in our
business. Whatever you could think of that can help you bring exceptional value to your
subscribers, make sure you do it in an engaging way.
Tip # 3
Now the worst sin that you can do with email marketing is to be boring. You don’t want to
be boring. Imagine that you’re the star of your own reality show. That’s what we do in our
business. So imagine you’re the star of your own reality show and let people get to know
you. Let people comment. You know people don’t want to see a static website anymore.
Now is about really knowing who is behind the brand, who is behind the company, who is
behind the products. Let them get to know you. In fact, one of my best video series that I
did that got the most feedback was ones that I did where at the end, I put bloopers of me
falling down, me knocking over easels, lights going out in the middle of shoots. So it was a
lot of funny stuff, but people got to know who I am. They got to know my personality. So let
them know if you’re having a stressful day and you’re trying to do a video and things are
going wrong or the weather is crazy or it’s Valentine’s Day and you’re going to go out with
your friends and family or something like that. Let people get to know you, like you, and
trust you which we already discussed in # 2 and which means they’re going to buy more
from you as well and you’re going to increase your profit margins.
Okay. Now, you want to be entertaining, educational and inspirational. You want to inspire
people as they go through your sales funnel. You want to educate, and entertain, and
inspire all at the same time as they go through your sales funnel to keep them engaged.

Tip # 4
You want to join 10-12 newsletters from people that are in your niche. Find out the people
that are in your niche. Update and join their newsletters and then start studying and
breaking down the type of emails that they’re sending to you. Break down how they are
engaging with you. Break down their sales funnels and start modeling that. Start
implementing that into your business. Look at an email and say wow let me…that’s really
engaging. Let me model my next email after that email. That’s how we all learn you guys, so
it’s all about modeling. The quickest way to success is getting around people that are where
you want to be and duplicate what they’re doing.
