  2. 2. CIHEAM is an International Intergovernmental Organization founded at the joint initiative of the OECD (OCSE) and the Council of Europe on 21 May 1962 and now has 13 member countries. CIHEAM’s Mediterranean focus 3 Missions 4 Mediterranean Agronomic Institutes (MAIs) 1 Headquarters located in Paris 1 network of partner institutions in the Mediterranean and across the world. The Mediterranean Agronomic Institute of Bari (IAMB) was established by CIHEAM in 1962 as its Italian operating facility, and it enjoys the privileges of extra-territoriality attributed to international organisations by the Republic of Italy. The Mediterranean Agronomic Institute of Bari (www.iamb.it) CAMPUS  Stretching over a surface of 10 ha;  Teaching facilities: three 25-seat & one 50-seat classrooms all equipped with two-language simultaneous translation facilities and a multi-purpose projection system;  Research facilities  Library and a Documentation Centre;  Trainees’ residence with 70 single rooms;  Residence for visiting professors;  Restaurant hall with 160 seats;  Multipurpose playgrounds & Sports Hall.

Post-graduate Programmes 1st year: Master (8-month duration) • 7 to 10 Units (lectures, seminars, field and lab work) • Individual or group project • weekly written assessment • Final oral examination 60 ECTS 2nd year: Master of Science (12-month duration) • 4 theoretical units • individual research project (in progress evaluation during the year) • co-supervision (at IAMB/home country) • Final oral examination and thesis discussion 60 ECTS THE MASTER OF SCIENCE = 120 CREDITS - A multidisciplinary approach unique in content and methods, complementing the education provided in member countries’ national institutions. -It is fully committed to the Bologna process which now sets the standard for harmonising the European higher education system. -International and Mediterranean focus favouring cultural and linguistic exchange.
