Foreign countries cont.  As of November 1, 2010, the banking sector of the Republic of Belarus comprised 31 operating banks  26 of these banks had foreign cooperation  23 of those banks had foreign investors’ share in the authorized capital exceeding 50%.  9 banks were wholly foreign-owned banks

Bank size     November 1, 2010, the total assets of the banking sector amounted to 110,699.3 billion Belarusian rubles (36.8 billion dollars) Their growth in January-October 2010 was 32.9%  Banks’ regulatory capital was 15,062.1 billion Belarusian rubles (5 billion dollars), having increased since the beginning of the year by 1,653.5 billion rubles, or by 12.3% The banking sector’s aggregate authorized capital grew in January-October 2010 by 294.3 billion Belarusian rubles amounting as of November 1, 2010 to 9,850 billion Belarusian rubles, or USD3.27 billion in equivalent.
