  6. 6. What is Facebook<br /><ul><li>Facebook is a Social Network site which was created in February 2004 by Mark Zuckerber with the the help of Dustin Moskovitz, Chris Hughes, and 2 other Harvard student
  7. 7. Innitally, the membership was restricted to students of Harvard University and subsequently expanded to other US and Canadian colleges then to European and Asian Colleges (email addresses with .edu)
  8. 8. Since September 11, 2006 is has been available for any e-mail address globally, however it only uses English interface

  10. 10. Facebook Demographic <br /><ul><li>Currently the majority of active facebookusere are from the United States and Canada The United States has approximatly 25 million Canada has approximatly 7 million. The closest compeditoran estimated number of active members of only 2.5 million

  12. 12. Among the active users 4 Million are between the ages of 13 and 18 14 Million are between the ages of 18 and 24, 3 Million are between the ages of 25 and 34 2 Million are between the ages 25 and 54 while less than 1 million are over the age of 55

  14. 14. Why Should I Create a Facebook Profile <br /><ul><li>Facebook allows you to keep in touch with your old friends and meet new ones. It allows your private and public message options. As well as keep tabs on what your friends do via their news feed. You can find former classmates using the search feature. Allows user groups which let you discuss or chat with others who share your interest
  15. 15. Facebook helps you keep people informed about what you do by allowing you to update your status, share your pictures, blog messages and video. It also give you a free way to promote events you are organizing or planning to attend

  17. 17. Facebook Profile v. Facebook PageThere is a Difference!<br /><ul><li>Facebook Profile: This is strictly for humans. Hey that’s you! You’re putting your “Face” on Facebook! It’s your picture! It’s your name! It’s your profile! Posting this information makes it easy for you to connect with your fiends. You’re posting your status updates, videos, pictures, sending messages, writing on walls, and socializing with the Facebook environment
  18. 18. Facebook Fan Page: Now that you have a Facebook profile use it to create a Fan Page for your business. This is where you can post business information: events videos, photos, specials, promos, and encourage your fans to post testimonials and help spread your business stories. A Facebook fan page can help a business find it’s best customers or prospect. The business can then energize its best customers or prospects to engage in word-of-mouth marketing. You can also incorporate reviews, events, notifications and more into your Facebook Fan Page
