  2. 2. What is a<br />miracle? <br />An extraordinary event caused by divine or spiritual power.<br />Miracles are a part of the gospel of Jesus Christ. <br />(see Bible Dictionary, “Miracles,” 732–33)<br />
  3. 3. The Prophet Elijah raises a boy from the dead.<br />The Prophet Elisha heals Naaman, a leper.<br />The Prophet Elisha prays and feeds a multitude with a small amount of food. <br />Old Testament Miracles: <br />The Prophets performed miracles through the Priesthood, <br />the divine power given to them by <br />Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ.<br />
  4. 4. Jesus travels through Galilee teaching the gospel <br />and performing miracles...<br />To show love and <br /> compassion <br />b. To build and confirm <br /> faith <br />To prove His divinity <br /> and power <br />
  5. 5. Jesus taught and performed miracles by the power of the Priesthood<br />
  6. 6. Jesus performed many miracles that directly blessed just one person.<br />
  7. 7. Jesus forgives a man’s sins and heals the man of palsy.<br />Mark 2:1–12.<br />

  9. 9. Jesus calmed the sea.<br />Spiritual Truth: <br />He can bring us peace.<br />Mark 4:35–41<br />
  10. 10. Jesus cast out a legion of devils. <br />Spiritual Truth:<br />He can cast Satan and his influence <br />out of our lives.Mark 5:1–20<br />
  11. 11. Jesus raised a young man from the dead. <br />Spiritual Truth:<br />Because of His Atonement, we will rise from the dead in the Resurrection.Luke 7:11–17.<br />
  12. 12. Touch of Faith caused her to be healed<br />
  13. 13. 36 As soon as Jesus heard the word that was spoken, <br />He saith unto the ruler of the synagogue, Be not afraid, <br />only believe. Mark 5:36.<br />

Faith Must Precede Miracles<br />12 For if there be no faith among the children of men God can do no miracle among them; wherefore, he showed not himself until after their faith.<br />18 And neither at any time hath any wrought miracles until after their faith; wherefore they first believed in the Son of God.
