  1. 1. We are in search of a Designated Pastor that is willing to relocate to northeastern New York and take on the responsibility of providing pastoral services to two small churches Following is information about our area and a pictorial presentation of the two churches
  2. 2.  Chazy’s population is approximately 4,200  Rouses Point’s population is approximately 4,000  Rouses Point is located in the northeast corner of New York state bordering Lake Champlain, Vermont and Canada  Rouses Point is 13 miles northeast of Chazy  Montreal, Canada is approximately 50 miles from Chazy  Burlington, Vermont is 55 miles from Rouses Point  Local economy: Chazy has a large agricultural industry – dairy, apples and eggs; and Rouses Point has a manufacturing, retail and tourism, and government services based economy
  3. 3.  Weather  Average high temperature in July is 80 – average low is 59  Average high temperature in January is 29 – average low is 13  Average precipitation – high in June of 4.36 and a low in February of 2.64”  Average winter snowfall is 71 inches  Lake Champlain is over 100 miles long and is great for boating and fishing  The Adirondack State Park is as close as 25 miles  Hikers will enjoy climbing the 46 high peaks in the Adirondacks  Lake Placid and ski resorts are approximately 65 miles from Chazy  Plattsburgh is the closest city with approximately 20,000 residents  Chazy is located 13 miles north of Plattsburgh  College – the State University of New York Plattsburgh is 15 miles away  Clinton county has a population of around 82,000 residents  Clinton county’s largest industries are retail / tourism, manufacturing, education and government services
  4. 4.  The combined church membership is under 100 members  Average worship attendance   Rouses Point – 20 in 2012; Chazy – 18 in 2013 Chazy and Rouses Point churches are non-yoked  Our churches have developed a working relationship sharing pastoral leadership over the past five plus years and at this point of the journey, anticipate that this relationship will continue to develop and enrich our faith in Christ, enabling each church to grow in our mission for Christ.  It is our vision that with the assistance of the leadership of a shared Pastor, we will continue on our mission to become what God is calling us to be.  We may be small but our members are strong and active
  5. 5.  We are offering an effective salary of $43,200  Consisting of cash salary at $33,230  Housing / manse – use valued at $9,970  In addition:  The Benefits Plan of the Presbyterian Church U.S.A., which     includes a medical plan and a pension, and a death and disability plan 4 weeks paid vacation 2 weeks study leave plus up to $800 in reimbursable continuing education costs Reimbursement of job-related mileage at the IRS rate And up to $50 per month reimbursement for telephone, books and/or Internet cost
  6. 6.  The manse is a 2 bedroom / 2 bathroom home with a one car garage located next door to the Chazy Presbyterian Church  The manse is presently in the midst of a complete renovation  Upgraded windows, doors and insulation have been installed  The inside has been redesigned with new electrical and plumbing  It is planned to soon have drywall, fixtures, cabinets, appliances, paint and siding completed.  If the new pastor starts before the manse is completed appropriate temporary housing will be provided

  11. 11.  The ice arena winter season - October 1st through March 30th    North Country Skating Club, North Country Youth Hockey Organization and the Northeastern Clinton Central School's Varsity High School Hockey Team Public skating throughout the winter season is available to the public at $2 per person The summer season has hosted many events  4th of July Celebration events, circuses, Boston-Montreal-Boston (BMB) annual bicycle race; the annual Biking for Miracles Motorcycle Ride benefiting the Children Miracle Network for cancer uses the facility as its departure point  The outdoor site has two baseball fields, soccer fields, basketball court, tennis courts, a playground, the Samuel de Champlain Center Stage and a gazebo for family gatherings
