Environmental factors of Pretoria <ul><li>Pretoria is very near to large gold mines, and that could probably be one of the reasons why it became a city. </li></ul><ul><li>There are two oceans next to South Africa. Pretoria is not very far from the Indian Ocean and the Orange River running through South Africa. </li></ul><ul><li>South Africa has lots of corn and Cape Town a few hours away from Pretoria was the home of many traders. </li></ul><ul><li>Pretoria had many minerals, not only gold. </li></ul>

Jan van Riebeeck opened a trade place in Cape Town. </li></ul>
