2. This billboard advertisement uses no typography on
its advertisement. Instead, it uses just images. This
doesn’t make the billboard have a specific target
audience because it only uses basic colours and
silhouettes of musical instruments. However, this
advertisement will most likely be aimed at students
between the age of 12 – 19 because they are more
likely to want to start to learn how to play a musical
instrument.
This advertisement will be appealing to its audience
because it is plain and simple and just shows what the
target audience are interested in. By just showing
silhouettes of instruments the manufacture will be
able to successfully gain a larger target audience
because there is nothing in the advertisement that
would suggest it is primarily targeted at a certain
audience.
3. The magazine responsible for creating this text is the Rolling Stone. This
institution mainly targets a audience that is aged between 19 – 25 and it’s main
psychographic is explorers. This is because the magazine is heavily based on
culture and news within the entertainment industries.
This advertisement that the magazine are promoting will impact their audience
because the magazine is well known for being heavily based around music and
will easily attract people who are into music. It also fits in well with targeting
their target audience because most people who are passionate about the latest
music news are aged between 15- 25.
The billboard cover is designed in a very creative way by the magazine
producing it. It uses a human rib cage and spine, which looks similar to a guitar,
with a heart inside. This is a very simple design and may not be instantly
understandable. However, people who are very interested in music may be able
to recognise and understand the meaning of the advert.
The slogan also works as subtle and creative metaphor. Instead of just including
information about the magazine, they have decided to creatively promote the
magazine without explaining what it is, which might be more appealing to it’s
audience as it gives them the satisfaction of working out what it is advertising.
