Its been two weeks since D-Dayand we are pushing through toGermany. We went by a beautifulchurch that was badly damagedby bombs. We have been fightinglike crazy but have not taken25 miles yet.Its July 5, 1944. I went on a patrollast night and captured a Germansoldier. My commanding officerwill question him.Its July 14, 1944.We hold the ridgeand the Germans wantto take it. We shot atthem and they firedback with tanks andflamethrowers butwe were able to holdthe ridge andthe Germans retreated.
