They cover and protect the flower growing inside. As the flower grows, it forces the sepals apart. The bud opens into a beautiful flower. When you look at a flower, you probably notice the petals first. The petals are the colorful parts of the flower. The petals attract bees, butterflies, birds, and other living things.

The eggs will grow into seeds when they are combined with sperm in pollen. Now look just below the pistil. You can see the cluster of stamens with rounded tips.
