TEAM  TALKBACK  TIME  STARTERS  Below   are   some   ideas   to   get   your   group   started   on   preparing   for   your   team   time.   You  do  not  have  to  use  these  ideas;  this  is  just  to  help  you  get  started.  Be  creative!  Engage  your   classmates!   Lead   us   in   enjoying   the   process   of   learning   and   discussing   about  Western  Art  History  and  your  team’s  theme!  You  can  always  ask  Ms.  Beka  for  help,  guidance,  or  ideas.      THEME:  Survival  and  Beyond    Possible   Discussion   Topics:   Is   abortion   murder?   Are   women   as   equally   valid   humans   as   men?   Is   it  okay  to  be  racist?    Possible  Activities:  Topic  Debate,  Food  Creation        THEME:  The  State    Possible   Discussion   Topics:  How  is  this  cultural  topic  of  the  state  exhibited  in  Vietnam?  What  legal  methods  are  there  for  social  protest  or  social  affirmation?  What  positive  social  changes  would  you  like  to  see  brought  about  through  art?    Possible  Activities:  Topic  Debate,  Current  Society  (Protest/Affirmation  Illustrated)        THEME:  Religion    Possible  Discussion  Topics:  How  do  the  western  religions  of  Monotheism  compare  and  contrast  with  what   you   believe?   How   does   religion   solve   problems   (What   are   those   problems   and   how   does  religion  seek  to  solve  them)?    Possible  Activities:  Topic  Debate,  Personal  Highest  Values  Illustrated        THEME:  Self  and  Society    Possible   Discussion   Topics:   How   is   the   idealized   body   of   today   communicated   to   you?   How   does   the  idealized  Vietnamese  woman  or  man’s  body  compare  to  that  of  idealized  Vietnamese  in  the  past  or  contrast  to  idealized  bodes  of  other  cultures?  How  do  you  build  walls  between  races,  genders,  clans,  and  classes?  How  or  would  you  ever  tear  down  those  social  walls?    Possible  Activities:  Topic  Debate,  Set  New  Trends  of  Ideal
