  1. 1. INTRODUCTION Iraq is in the Middle East. The capital city of Iraq is Baghdad. They speak Arabic and Kurdish. Iraq is in Asia to the west of Iran.
  2. 2. GEOGRAPH Iraq is surrounded by 6 Y It’s next to the countries. sea that is called The Persian Gulf. There are 31,858,481 people. The area of Iraq is 169,235 square miles.
  3. 3. HISTORY The first civilizations came from the plain of the Tigris and the Euphrates Rivers around 5,000 BC.
  4. 4. CULTURE The religions of Iraq are 98% of Islam and 2% of others. They have 2 Muslim holidays. They are Eid Al Adha and Ramadan. Women wear black for freedom. Also there are 86% of Muslim Shia and 24% of Sunni.
  5. 5. Economy The money in Iraq is called Dinar. The war that was vs. Kuwait was an economic disaster. Iraq’s whole money is 49,100,000,000. Iraq has the 2nd most oil in the world.
  6. 6. CLIMATE Iraq has a dry season and a wet season. The dry season is from May to October. The wet season is from November to April. Summers are hot. It goes up to 49 Celsius. Winter is cold. It goes down to 10 Celsius. Rain goes up to 15.1 cm =5.9 inches.
  7. 7. Facts • • • • 169,235 square miles. Muslims are more than the others. War vs. Iran, lasted 8 years and Iraq won the war. Farmers in the mountains sometimes live in mud houses. • A Ziggurat was built 4,000 years ago. There were 1,000 workers and 1,000,000 bricks. • 31,858,481 people in Iraq.
