Early Life <ul><li>Samuel De Champlain was born in Brouge, France. </li></ul><ul><li>The year he was born in was 1567. </li></ul><ul><li>He was an only child in his family. </li></ul><ul><li>He may have been an only child , but he was also an education navigator. </li></ul><ul><li>He was trained on seamanship. </li></ul><ul><li>When he got older, he went to the army and became quartermaster. </li></ul>
  3. 3. Family Life <ul><li>He had a very nice mother. </li></ul><ul><li>His father was a busy sea captain. </li></ul><ul><li>Samuel usually spends time with his uncle. </li></ul>
  4. 4. Accomplishments <ul><li>Champlain charted much of Quebec and some Northeastern states. </li></ul><ul><li>He helped Huron fight the Iroquois and other enemy tribes. </li></ul><ul><li>He beat the Native Americans in the fight. </li></ul>
  5. 5. Explorations/Discoveries <ul><li>Champlain saw the South Mountains high, but without snow. </li></ul><ul><li>He discovered a lake and named it Lake Champlain. </li></ul><ul><li>He also discovered and rediscovered many locations in the New World. </li></ul>
  6. 6. Problems Encountered <ul><li>There were rapids and falls. </li></ul><ul><li>There were also rocks. </li></ul><ul><li>Lastly, there were ditches 15 feet wide. </li></ul>
  7. 7. Conclusion <ul><li>December 25, 1635 Christmas Day Champlain had died. </li></ul><ul><li>He had died in Quebec. </li></ul><ul><li>He died when he was taken by England as a prisoner. </li></ul>
