  2. 2. Hello! I´m William Shakespeare, I´m a playwriter and a poet.
  3. 3. William Shakespeare was born on April 23rd, 1564
  4. 4. He lived in Stratford-Upon-Avon.
  5. 5. When William was around 8 some wandering players came to his village. He loved their costumes and instruments.
  6. 6. His dad took him and his younger brother Gilbert to see the play.
  7. 7. He dreamed about becoming an actor and write his own plays.
  8. 8. Anne Hathaway and William Shakespeare got married.
  9. 9. Shakespeare had a daughter called Sussanah and twins named Judith and Hamnet.
  10. 10. Shakespeare left Stratford-Upon- Avon to go to London to work.
  11. 11. He staged his first play. It was a huge success, the crowd loved it.
  12. 12. He became famous and everyone admired him
  13. 13. Queen Elizabeth I became his friend. He wrote plays for her.
  14. 14. William Shakespeare and his friends built the Globe theater.
  15. 15. Shakespeare’s theater, The Globe, burned down!
  16. 16. That´s the Globe today.
  17. 17. William Shakespeare wrote “Romeo and Juliet”.
  18. 18. It´s a love story, but, also, a tragedy.
  19. 19. Which means the end is sad
  20. 20. In Verona, Italy, you can find Juliet´s balcony.
  21. 21. You can leave your love messages and Juliet will read them
  22. 22. Shakespeare wrote Hamlet, another tragedy. To be or not to be, that is the question.
  23. 23. But he also wrote comedies. He wrote a play called “A Midsummer Night’s Dream”. Nick Bottom turned into a donkey and the beautiful Queen of the fairies falls in love with a donkey.
  24. 24. He was also a poet. He wrote sonnets (poems exactly 14 lines long).
  25. 25. William Shakespeare died in 1616.
