If you enjoyed my Ultimate Travel Cheat Sheet, I’m going to share with you more unique data available in my Guide to Location Independence. This time, we’re looking at comparison AirBnB costs around the world. Costs are for 2 nights, 3 guests, 2 bedroom apartment (entire apartment not room or shared facilities), with wifi Airbnb prices differ from standard accommodation costs because the markets are less developed. While a city like Singapore may have tens of thousands of rental apartments, it may only have a few hundred listed on Airbnb. Cost varies by city. Airbnb rates tend not to follow the cost of living indexes. A well developed AirBnB market in an expensive city may be cheaper than an underdeveloped market in a cheap city. The more developed the market, the more competitive the prices. I haven’t provided data for the cheapest possible accommodation as the cheapest is never best. I don’t say this because cheap accommodation is lousy but because the cheapest isn’t indicative of the average. There may be one $50/night apartment and hundreds at $90/night. In this case, I’ll take the average as $90 not $50 because the cheaper one is an outlier. * Denotes not competitive Airbnb market (don’t expect any good deals or any accommodation at all) AirBnB Costs in Asia: By: jjcb
