  • According to statistics 25% of us will need blood transfusion at least once in our lives. And only less that 5% of the people donate blood once in their lives.
  • Most of the blood donation happens through voluntary organizations, whenever someone needs fresh blood we run to the nearest college or some other place where you can find a lot of people together.
  • Then there are many websites with donor databases which are searchable, blood group wise, area wise etc.
  • There are SMS services, in which you request blood via sending an SMS in a particular format and a request is send to every matching donor in the database. Blood donation happens if the donor responds.
