  4. 4. Church <ul><li>Easter is a religious holiday. </li></ul><ul><li>Some people celebrate by going to church. </li></ul>
  5. 5. Dinner <ul><li>Many families prepare a large meal on this special day. </li></ul><ul><li>Ham dinners are popular on Easter. </li></ul>
  6. 6. New Clothes <ul><li>People like to wear new clothes on Easter. </li></ul><ul><li>Females often wear dresses with floral prints and pretty hats. </li></ul>
  7. 7. Easter Eggs <ul><li>Children color eggs by dipping them in cups of dye. </li></ul><ul><li>After they color the eggs, they put them in baskets. </li></ul>
  8. 8. Easter Baskets <ul><li>Easter baskets are filled with grass. </li></ul><ul><li>The grass keeps the eggs from breaking. </li></ul>
  9. 9. Easter Egg Hunt <ul><li>The Easter Bunny hides the eggs in the backyard. </li></ul><ul><li>When the children wake up on Easter, they look for the eggs and put them in their Easter baskets. </li></ul><ul><li>There is one golden egg, and the person who finds it wins a prize. </li></ul>

  12. 12. When is Easter? <ul><li>What day of the week is Easter on? </li></ul><ul><li>It’s on April (the) 12 th this year. </li></ul><ul><li>We say, “Happy Easter!” </li></ul>
  13. 13. What do children do on Easter? First , Children color eggs. Then , the Easter Bunny hides the eggs. Next, the children have an Easter Egg Hunt. Finally, someone finds the Golden Egg, and they receive a prize!
  14. 14. What is he doing? <ul><li>He is coloring hard boiled eggs for Easter. </li></ul><ul><li>The dye is in plastic cups. </li></ul><ul><li>Pink, yellow, blue, orange, and green are popular Easter colors. </li></ul>
  15. 15. What are these? <ul><li>They are Easter Baskets. </li></ul><ul><li>Children use these baskets to collect the eggs on Easter. </li></ul>
  16. 16. Why is the Girl Smiling? <ul><li>She’s smiling because she’s happy! </li></ul><ul><li>She’s smiling because she has a beautiful Easter basket. </li></ul>

  21. 21. What is this woman wearing? <ul><li>She is wearing an Easter bonnet. </li></ul><ul><li>An Easter bonnet is a fancy hat. </li></ul><ul><li>This bonnet is pink, and it has flowers on it. </li></ul>
