Composition <ul><li>Mars is made of reddish orange rocks. </li></ul><ul><li>The rocks on Mars have iron oxide. </li></ul><ul><li>There are two polar ice caps on Mars. </li></ul><ul><li>The polar ice caps are made out of Carbon Dioxide. </li></ul><ul><li>The Mars sky is pink. </li></ul><ul><li>Mars looks like a rocky desert. </li></ul>

Unique Facts <ul><li>Mars has many volcanoes. </li></ul><ul><li>The valley, Marineris Canyon on Mars, is larger than the Grand Canyon. </li></ul><ul><li>It is 10 times larger and 4 times deeper. </li></ul><ul><li>Olympus Mons is a mountain on Mars. </li></ul><ul><li>It is 3 times taller than Mount Everest and it’s the tallest in the solar system. </li></ul><ul><li>Another unique fact about Mars is the night time temperature is -193. </li></ul>
  5. 5. Previous Missions <ul><li>In 1964 a robot named Mariner 4 went to Mars. It had solar panels, a camera, and a dish for pictures. </li></ul><ul><li>In 1997 Sojourner went to Mars. It was like a skateboard. </li></ul><ul><li>In 2004, Spirit and Opportunity were the robots sent to Mars. They searched for rocks and dug in the ground. </li></ul>
  6. 6. Conclusion <ul><li>We have learned many things about Mars. </li></ul><ul><li>One thing we learned is people can not live there because there’s no water. Also, there’s no oxygen on Mars. </li></ul><ul><li>Maybe in the future people could live on Mars. </li></ul>

The wheels are made of metal. </li></ul><ul><li>The robot has a claw to grab rocks to discover new things. </li></ul><ul><li>Our team is using a robot for exploration because there is no water or oxygen. </li></ul><ul><li>The robot will conduct rock experiments. We will learn what Mars is made of. The robot will take pictures of Mars and send them to Earth. </li></ul>
