EU Data Protection Directive (95/46/EC)
“any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person ('data subject'); an identifiable person
is one who can be identified, directly or indirectly, in particular by reference to an identification number or to
one or more factors specific to his physical, physiological, mental, economic, cultural or social identity”

“Any representation of information that permits the identity of an individual to whom the information
applies to be reasonably inferred by either direct or indirect means…may include a combination of gender,
race, birth date, geographic indicator, and other descriptors).

Personal data - data which relate to a living individual who can be identified –
(a) from those data, or
