Introduction <ul><li>The goal of the STaR chart is the Look at the trends four areas: </li></ul><ul><li>1.Teaching and Learning </li></ul><ul><li>2.Educator Preparation and Development </li></ul><ul><li>3.Leadership, Administration, and Instructional Support </li></ul><ul><li>4.Infrastructure for Technology </li></ul><ul><li>The purpose of the STaR Chart is to look at a schools progress toward meeting Long Range goals for technology. </li></ul>

Teaching and Learning <ul><li>In the past three years, the school has improved in the three areas. </li></ul><ul><li>According the STaR chart, student’s still need to work on mastering technology skills, online learning. These areas would increase if the TEKS were implemented in the use of technology. </li></ul><ul><li>What are some whys we could use the technology TEKS more effectively? </li></ul>Score 15- Advanced Tech as of 2009. Goal is to be at Target Tech (score of 20-24)
  4. 4. Educator Preparation and Development <ul><li>This area is still developing and educators are not making gains in professional development. </li></ul><ul><li>What would help use grow in this area? </li></ul>Score 13- Developing Tech as of 2009. Goal is to be at Target Tech (score of 20-24)

Leadership, Administration, and Instructional Support <ul><li>Our school has had constant growth in this area </li></ul><ul><li>Which area would help you in effectively using technology more in the classroom? </li></ul><ul><li>What tools do you use that another teacher may benefit from for online learning? </li></ul>Score 18- Advanced Tech as of 2009. Goal is to be at Target Tech (score of 20-24)

Infrastructure for technology <ul><li>Weakest area is student to computer ratio </li></ul><ul><li>Internet access is strongest </li></ul><ul><li>Made more gains in this area over three years time. </li></ul><ul><li>How and what could we do to improve distance learning? What activities would gain student interest? </li></ul>Score 18- Advanced Tech as of 2009. Goal is to be at Target Tech (score of 20-24)
  7. 7. Conclusion <ul><li>Technology plays a large role in the ways students learn and their abilities to be successful in the future. Integrating technology into our teaching will help us to reach students at more levels and gain their interest in a whole new way. Children learn best when they are interested in the material and are active. Let’s reach student’s every way possible. Technology will help use close learning gaps and help student’s connect learning to the real world. </li></ul>
