More than ever we must research and investigate these commonly used words-Sensuality/Sexuality- and really start to approach them from a point of understanding what the mere applications of these words used by the masses everyday is really producing. The things that our parents couldn't tell us because they didn't know either.

  1. 1. This Black Woman’s Sen/Sex-U-aLiTy by Atyeb Ba Atum Re“sSshhhh, cum closer whispered Nakash from behind the sSa-creed tree. The verysmell of his breath made everything in me awaken and for the first time in my creation Ifelt a strange heat vibrate between my thighs as his tongue seemed to flicker downthere in such a way that made me SENSE the auras of everything around me like I hadnever EXPERIENCED them before.Even though I was screaming--I liked it, I liked it, I LIKED IT!!!—and then there was ahot liquid that I felt him sucking from my body down there that I did not know existedand . . . I LIKED IT. When he was done he gazed up at me and then . . . LICKED HISLIPS. He put his mouth on mine and let me sample a taste of what the liquid he hadsucked from my body tasted like and . . . MMMMmmm—I LIKED IT.Then he taught me how to do him with my mouth and I put my mouth on his and letsome of his liquid spill into his mouth from mine—he wrapped his tongue around mine—we both swallowed those mingled liquids and . . . together--WE LIKED IT.” Paa Nazdurt-Raptivist Atyeb Ba Atum RE 1
  2. 2. SENSUALsen·su·al [sen-shoo-uhl]adjective1.pertaining to, inclined to, or preoccupied with the gratification of the senses or appetites; carnal;fleshly.2.lacking in moral restraints; lewd or unchaste.3.arousing or exciting the senses or appetites.4.worldly; materialistic; irreligious.5.of or pertaining to the senses or physical sensation; sensorySynonyms1. Sensual, sensuous, voluptuous refer to experience through the senses. Sensual refers, oftenunfavorably, to the enjoyments derived from the senses, especially from the gratification orindulgence of physical appetites: a sensual delight in eating; sensual excesses. Sensuous refers, favorably or literally, to what is experienced through the senses: sensuous impressions; sensuouspoetry. Voluptuous implies the luxurious gratification of sensuous or sensual desires: voluptuousjoys; voluptuous beauty. See also carnal. 2. lascivious. To make the attempt to write about Black Feminine Sen/Sex-U-aLiTy is no easy task. The definition of sensual is given first because little black girls are not shown thisdefinition first as they began to experience the AWAKENING of their Feminine SENSESafter the first seductive touch from anyone. I know I wasn’t shown the definition ofsensual nor did I even think to investigate the word at all when I began to experiencemy inner Senses that whomever IT or They were had created (made) us to have. All my momma told me was “don’t play with the boys.” So, I didn’t. I guess the girlsthat I hung around had been told the same thing. To prepare ourselves for that first kissthat we knew and longed to experience someday, we practiced with ice cubes and witheach other. We even critiqued each other’s technique and of course one thing lead toanother. After all momma said, “Don’t play with the boys.” So---We didn’t.There is absolutely no way to describe what we each felt because we all felt somethingdifferently, yet, We liked it---I liked it. 2
  3. 3. Being sensual made me feel ultra feminine. I felt extremely soft, playful and imitative. Itmade me feel like I was a grown woman deserving of some young boy’s or grown man’sattention and Affection. I did not know that a great responsibility came with awakeningthose senses and for sure, I would not let my momma know. No one informed me ormy girlfriends that beyond the fact of having a menstrual cycle, other physical andpsychological doors had been flung open as well. The thing that was devastating themost was that there weren’t any passage of rites into womanhood ceremonies for us.Hell, I thought being voluptuous meant a sistah had big breast and a big butt. I’ve evennoticed how some people prepare their food and can make it look so damn good ontheir plate that I wanted to eat their food instead of my own.Being sensual has nothing to do with ethnicity because we are dealing with the Mindand what our Senses experience when they are noticing what is going on in their IN-vironment. I think we would have to be able to break down what the universe or theSupreme It is feeling when It is being sensual with itself in order to bring about life. Ifour feminine ancestors first learned about what it was to be sensual from the Lord Godor Gods in the garden of Genesis then we know what is recorded that happened next. The Black woman taught her man how to experience what it felt like to become asensual being. In this context I mean experiencing the awakening of our senses. When I know that I am being photographed, I feel sensual. What that means is that Iimmediately bring in the feminine energy of all of my ancient mothers which makes mefirst dress accordingly and allow them to express their poses through me.SENSUALITYsen·su·al·i·ty [sen-shoo-al-i-tee]noun, plural -ties.1.sensual nature: the sensuality of Keatss poetry.2.unrestrained indulgence in sensual pleasures.3.lewdness; unchastity. The Supreme Reality that has many names always takes a step by step approach toeverything that it does. It is a very SENSE-ual approach, an approach that is anunrestrained indulgence in the pleasure of making life. So as we investigate the socalled defining elements of what some being who didn’t even make himself pens toelements intermingling with each other as this or that, we must question how they cameto know what this or that truly meant. Especially when labeling something beyond theircomprehension as being lewd or unchaste.I say this because what we call nature or life, is being sensual and expressing itssensuality all of the time, right before our very eyes. During the ancient of days it is 3
  4. 4. recorded that life would always continue to do everything in cycles. Now that I amolder, I can say that my sensuality expresses itself in cycles. Feminine sensuality isaffected by the penetrating vibrations of the moon and the SUN. Like it—or not. When a sistah is feeling sensual and expressing her sensuality, she should know thatshe is the keeper, protectress and nurturer of something that has been entrusteddivinely in her keeping. She should feel that it is her duty to know what she is giving upevery time she has sex and with whom she is having sex with. It goes beyond lookingenticingly irresistible to men. No one told me that it all begins in the BRAIN. Educationis paramount. Genetics is something that should be learned alongside the importanceof having our first menstrual cycle. This would help us as sensual beings to practicepurposeful restraint and value our ability to be chaste women. In my opinion this wouldreturn the aura of dark mysticism to our femininity and make us alluring, and desirablebeings to our men again. ~ To be sensual, I think, is to respect and rejoice in the force of life, of life itself, and to be present in all that one does, from the effort of loving to the making of bread. ~ James Arthur BaldwinSEXIn biology, sex is a process of combining and mixing genetic traits, often resulting in thespecialization of organisms into a male or female variety (each known as a sex). Sexualreproduction involves combining specialized cells (gametes) to form offspring that inherit traitsfrom both parents. Gametes can be identical in form and function (known as isogametes), but inmany cases an asymmetry has evolved such that two sex-specific types of gametes(heterogametes) exist: male gametes are small, motile, and optimized to transport their geneticinformation over a distance, while female gametes are large, non-motile and contain the nutrientsnecessary for the early development of the young organism. An organisms sex is defined by the gametes it produces: males produce male gametes(spermatozoa, or sperm) while females produce female gametes (ova, or egg cells); individualorganisms which produce both male and female gametes are termed hermaphroditic. Frequently, physical differences are associated with the different sexes of an organism; these sexualdimorphisms can reflect the different reproductive pressures the sexes experienceExperiencing my senses lead me to the gate of wanting to engage in SEX. Sensual, sensuality and SEX are friends of each other. Our ancient ancestors programmed themwithin us to be experienced together. They did have a manner in which we were toexperience these happenings, however the Lord God (s) slipped and had somethingelse in MIND. After saying this, it goes without saying that everyone who Plays around 4
  5. 5. with awakening their senses becomes prime candidates of wanting to experience thethrill of what it feels like to engage in SEX.We don’t have sex we have babies, we have desires, wishes, wants and dreams. Weengage in Sex which requires us to Perform certain Acts in order to heighten what oursenses have not felt and/or didn’t know existed. Truthfully speaking, when I had my firstsexual encounter with a male, it was not enjoyable accept for the part where I knew thatI had something so valuable between my legs that he wanted, that he was even willingto crawl to me for it. I thought to myself, wow! The power of the pussy was made plainto me in that very moment. However, I still had not thought to investigate the meaningof these different stages of awakening my senses. If my mother would have told methat I was genetically mixing my ancestral lineage with that sexual counterpart—maybe, just maybe—I wouldn’t have liked it as much as I did when I finally experienced sex withsomeone who knew what the hell they were doing. I did however, began to researchthe various positions and mantras of SEX. Why? Power!!!Genetics! Sex! We have got to start thinking about what we are doing ourselvesgenetically and stop making the vibration of love our scapegoats. If it feels good---don’tnecessarily mean Do it!Earlier I mentioned the words, Softer, Playful and Imitative. Think about it. Doesn’t thissound Primal? (A question for my sis-STARS)Our sensuality becomes very primal when we are engaging in sex, especially if we don’tknow any of the more refined sciences of sex as being a healing tool. We just get downand funky when we get loose. I like that sometimes. However, we must restrainourselves from always experiencing our sensuality on that level. Why? Because at thatlevel we forget about the respawn-sibilities of what we’re doing and what we are co-creating with the pre-programmed wiring surgically manipulated within us. (The medicalexperiments of our ancient ancestors)Sexualitysex·u·al·i·ty [sek-shoo-al-i-tee or, especially Brit., seks-yoo-]noun1.sexual character; possession of the structural and functional traits of sex.2.recognition of or emphasis upon sexual matters.3.involvement in sexual organisms preparedness for engaging in sexual activity. 5
  6. 6. I now must accept the reality that whenever I engage in sex, I am nothing more than anorganism preparing myself to sensuously engage in and perform certain sexual actsthat become expressions of an activity that I Like from time to time.In conclusion, do we do ourselves an injustice when we try to approach the subject ofSensuality as Sexuality first?Paa Nazdurt-Raptivist Atyeb Ba Atum ReAka Net-Hetep Ankh Anunu Ta’NesertFormerly known artistically as Ayaba (wife-uvh-tha-king)The Aspiring GoddessAugust 21, 2011 ~ Money, it turned out, was exactly like sex, you thought of nothing else if you didnt have it and thought of other things if you did. ~ James Arthur Baldwin RBG WORLDWIDE 1 NATION A communiversity where we honor our ancestors daily through diligent studying and application. 6
