Static charges on center-cum-surface rewinder

Removing static charges on a centre-cum-surface rewinder gets imperative as surface voltages can reach 100 kV or higher. Valstat static eliminating bars are effective in bringing the charge down to near zero levels.

Depending on the substrate being processed and the ambient conditions, surface voltages have been observed to be more than ±100 kV. The other challenge is in locating the static charge eliminator for effective removal of the static charges of the web on the rewinder. Solution Valstat ® VR 80 DC long range static eliminating bars are ideally suited for this application. These bars can be installed in a location that does not hamper web handling, as shown in diagram above. Static charges are brought down to near zero levels, even if the static eliminating bar is 400 mm away from the target.
