  13. 13. Uses of will <ul><li>Sudden decissions:

  15. 15. Uses of will <ul><li>Predictions: e.g. “Be careful! You'll fall!”
  16. 16. Promises: e.g. “Don't worry, I won't be late”
  17. 17. Offers: “This is too difficult!” “Come on, I'll help you.” </li></ul>
  18. 18. Uses of will <ul><li>Timetables in the future:
  19. 19. e.g. “We will meet at the pizza restaurant at 7 tomorrow” </li></ul>

  37. 37. Uses of GOING TO <ul><li>Predictions based on something you can perceive:
  38. 38. “It's going to rain” (I can see dark clouds in the sky) </li></ul>
  39. 39. Uses of GOING TO <ul><li>Plans or intentions for the future:
  40. 40. “Where are you going this summer?
  41. 41. “We're going to the beach” </li></ul>
  42. 42. WILL vs. GOING TO <ul><li>GOING TO is usually used when we have evidence that something is going to happen.
  43. 43. “ He's missed the bus. He's going to be late.” </li></ul><ul><li>WILL is used when we think or hope something is going to happen.
  44. 44. “ It's really cold! I'll get sick”
  45. 45. “ I hope I'll get a good mark at the exam” </li></ul>
  46. 46. GOING TO vs. PRESENT CONTINUOUS <ul><li>You can use both forms for plans in the future.
  47. 47. BUT we usually the present continuous for schedules and events that affect a lot of people. E.g.
  48. 48. They're getting married the 23 rd of June.
  49. 49. The plane is leaving at 9:00 AM. </li></ul>
  50. 50. FUTURE CONTINOUS (WILL+BE+V-ING) <ul><li>I/you/he/she/it/we/you/they will be playing
  51. 51. I/you/he/she/it/we/you/they will not be playing
  52. 52. Will I/you/he/she/it/we/you/they be playing?
  53. 53. Yes, I/you/he/she/it/we/you/they will .
  54. 54. No, I/you/he/she/it/we/you/they won't .

  56. 56. is THE SAME for all subjects!) </li></ul>
  57. 57. FUTURE CONTINUOUS – USE <ul><li>Actions that will be happening at a point in the future, e.g.
  58. 58. “ Come tomorrow afternoon, we'll be waiting for you at home”
  59. 59. Questions about your plans for the future:
  60. 60. “ Will you be studying at the library tomorrow?” </li></ul>
  61. 61. FUTURE PERFECT <ul><li>I/you/he/she/it/we/you/they will have finished
  62. 62. I/you/he/she/it/we/you/they will not have finished
  63. 63. Will I/you/he/she/it/we/you/they have finished ?
  64. 64. (notice all forms are the same here, too) </li></ul>
  65. 65. Use of FUTURE PERFECT <ul><li>Actions that will have happened in the future. E.g.
