Go Fish <ul><li>Goal: To have the most pairs of ten at the end of the game. </li></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>Take face and 10 cards out of the pile </li></ul></ul></ul><ul><li>Directions: </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Group of 2 – 4 students. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Each student receives 4 cards to begin with. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Starting with one of the players, they choose one of their cards and ask another player if they have the other part to make a ten. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>If they get a pair, they place it aside, if not, they choose 2 more cards and continue to play. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Continue to play until a player doesn’t have anymore cards or the card pile is gone. </li></ul></ul>

Ten Frame Challenge <ul><li>Goal: To have the most pairs of ten at the end of the game. </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Take face and 10’s out of the pile </li></ul></ul><ul><li>Directions: </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Each student places a set of ten-frame cards face down. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>At the same time, they turn the top card over and the first one to say the other part to make a ten, wins that round and gets both cards. </li></ul></ul>
  8. 8. 1, 2, 3 Land on Ten <ul><li>Goal: Use the digits 1, 2 or 3 to be the person to say 10. </li></ul><ul><li>Directions: </li></ul><ul><ul><li>You can only use the three digits 1, 2, or 3 </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>You can only use one of the digits each turn </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Each turn you add to your previous number to get the final sum of ten. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>The person who lands on 10 first, wins!! </li></ul></ul>
  9. 9. 12 Card Draw <ul><li>Goal: </li></ul><ul><li>Be the player who has the most combinations of ten </li></ul><ul><li>Directions: </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Use a deck of cards. Take all the 10’s and face cards out. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Place 12 cards face up and the rest face down. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>I usually place the cards in three rows with 4 cards in each row. </li></ul></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Each player takes turn taking the top card from the pile and tries to match it to one or more cards face up to make a ten. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>The player with the most matches at the end, wins!!! </li></ul></ul>
  10. 10. Pyramid Math <ul><li>1. Place cards in a pyramid starting with 1 card and finishing the bottom row with 5 cards. </li></ul><ul><li>2. Create bonds of 10 by adding cards together. </li></ul><ul><li>3. When bonds of 10 can not be made, fill in the missing spots with additional cards. </li></ul><ul><li>4. Play until there are no more available moves. </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Modify the game by making bonds of different numbers. </li></ul></ul>
