APM webinar sponsored by the South Wales and West of England Branch on 24 November 2022.
Speakers: Elizabeth Harris and Sarah Mitchell
The Met Office Project Delivery Capability has been on a significant transformational journey to ensure that delivery is undertaken by brilliant, empowered project delivery professionals. We shared with you how we started, where we are today and how we continue our journey. This webinar was held on 24 November 2022.
Everyone will have a view on what the Met Office does with the main view being, ‘we tell you the weather’. What if we said, ‘that is just the tip of the iceberg!’ excuse the pun!
This webinar provided a clear view of our strategy, the breadth of what we do and the landscape that we are operating in. We also took you through a high-level view of our transformational journey and went into more detail within the Project Delivery area.
Over the last three years the Met Office started its organisational wide transformation. The Programme Directorate came into play to professionalise Project Delivery and aligning this to the Government Framework. We provide a consistent framework that allows delivery via the appropriate methodologies, whilst we are continuously striving to demonstrate best practice.
For us to be able to do this, we need our brilliant people to be stood with us. We are committed to them to provide a clear career path, development, clarity on what they are delivering and more important than all of this is the empowerment and safe structures to be able to fail fast, learn from this and beautifully deliver.
