ALL Chapter Initiatives - One Year of ALL Ludhiana Chapter

  2. 2. Launching of the Ludhiana chapter of Assocham Ladies League 2 8th March, 2013
  3. 3. 3 The Ludhiana chapter of ALL had its very first meeting at TRIDENT Industries on 22 July, 2013. ASSOCHAM Ladies League has a most unique vision of connecting women across the globe and nurturing the cause of women in as many diverse ways as possible. The overarching aim is to create a worldwide web of women to support and empower one another, beyond boundaries. Various issues were taken up. Foremost was the issue of cleanliness of the city. Going forward it was decided to have weekly meetings with the Mayor and the MC staff. Screening of a documentary in theatres and sharing of all social work and spreading positivity through Ludhiana Cares face book page was also discussed.   4. 4. 4 29th August 2013 All takes up responsibility for the placements of the students of the institute. Post- Placement visits Besides individual placements about 25 students were placed in Vardhman Mills
  5. 5. 5 Taking cue from this initiative ALL had its first meeting with the Mayor on 22nd August,2013 in the Mayor’s office. The main agenda of this meeting was to deal with the garbage menace in the city. Objective being to assist the Councillors, MC staff and waste management company A2Z. After discussing various issues it was decided to initiate this drive with ward 56 as the pilot project. Since then ALL has taken up Wards 47, 48, 52, 53, 54, 55, 59 and 60. Few of the group members had earlier initiated a drive for a clean and green Ludhiana by walking down the streets of Model Town and encouraging the residents to take responsibility of the area around their homes and work places.   8. 8. Christmas Celebrations 25th Dec 2013 8 ALL distributed woollen caps, and goodies in Guru Teg Bahadur public school for the needy.
  9. 9. 3rd Makeover ALL with the Mayor Mr. Harcharan Singh Gohalwaria at Govt. Model School, Cemetery Road 9 7th Jan. 2014
  10. 10. 4th Makeover Republic day celebration – a unique way 22 schools participated in a slogan writing competition besides painting the wall and pavement of Govt. College for Boys 10 24th Jan. 2014

  17. 17. 17 18th March, 2014 Inspired by ‘Satyamev Jayatey’ ALL initiated presentations and talks on Segregation and Composting in various clubs, kitty parties and get togethers as we felt thatSegregating at source at home and composting of kitchen waste is the most effective way of eliminating garbage from reaching the dumps and landfills ALL initiated talks with MC in this regard and it was decided that Colored bins will be provided for segregating by A2z. MC to put notices in newspapers and theatres and also distribute pamphlets. ALL distributed the following pamphlets along with the presentations : Let it begin with me !!
  18. 18. 18 Presentation on segregation and Composting in Maharaja Regency 29th March Working towards Clean Ludhiana and garbage disposal, ALL started with the education campaign of garbage segregation and composting with a talk at Ladies Kitty meeting. The talk highlighted on the need of segregation of home waste into biodegradable and non biodegradable. Advantage of using the kitchen waste to compost in your own garden and then to utilize that as manure for plants and kitchen garden was emphasized too.
  19. 19. 19 11th April, 2014 The ladies of Neharika club were given a presentation on segregation and composting , so that we can get rid of the garbage dumps which spread out on roads and are an eye sore for Ludhiana as a community . ‘’She turned her cant’s into can’s and her dreams into plans !!’’

The community of Maya Nagar were given a presentation on how to manage their household waste in an effective way so as to Reduce, Recycle and Reuse by composting to make their own manure Towards Excellence Empowered W

  23. 23. 23 2nd May, 2014 Well Done again ALL !! A very constructive meeting with the Docs at FBC on segregation and composting with majority of them keen on following up....
