SCOTLAND FACTS <ul><li>-Edinburgh is the capital of scotland. </li></ul><ul><li>-Scotland is in the north of England. </li></ul><ul><li>-Population: 5194000 persons. </li></ul><ul><li>- 78,772 km² area. </li></ul><ul><li>-The office lenguaje is the English, Gaellic and Scotish. </li></ul><ul><li>-Glasggow is the largest and most popular city. </li></ul><ul><li>-Scotland is part of the United kingdom. </li></ul><ul><li>-The goberment is the constitutional monarchy. </li></ul><ul><li>-The queen Is Elizabrth II </li></ul><ul><li>-Escotland kingdom existes from 853-1707. </li></ul><ul><li>-In Scotland there are 790 islands </li></ul>
  3. 3. EDINBURGH CASTLE <ul><li>Edinburgh Castle is a castle in Edinburgh, Scotland. It is built on a hill in the centre of Edinburgh. This makes it very easy to see from the main shopping streets. It is a very beautiful castle. </li></ul><ul><li>The castle has a military display every year, called a tattoo, where soldiers show their skills at marching and competitions, and there are brass bands and bands of bagpipes. </li></ul>
  4. 4. BEN NEVIS MOUNTAIN <ul><li>In Scotland there are many places to visit for example the Ben Nevis mountain. This mountain is the highest mountain in Great Britain. Ven nevis mountain has got 1344 metres . It is near Fort William and it is part of the Three Peaks Challenge. </li></ul>
  5. 5. RIVER TAY <ul><li>The Tay is a river in the southern Highlands of Scotland. It is the longest river in Scotland and the sixth-longest in the UK. It is also the largest river in the UK with a catchment of approximately two thousand square miles. River tay has got 193km. In it we can make many trips in ship. </li></ul>
  6. 6. LOCH LOMOND <ul><li>It is the largest loch or lake in Great Britain.In this area there are many islands, including the largest fresh water island in the British Islands.   8. 8. Government and politics The Politics of Scotland forms a part of the widerpolitics of the United Kingdom. The head of state in Scotland is the British monarch, currently Queen Elizabeth II (since 1952). The United Kingdom Parliament conserve active power over Scotland's taxes, social security system, the military, internation, relations,broadcasting, and some other areas
  9. 9. SCOTTISH MUSIC Scottish music is a significant aspect of the nation's culture, with both traditional and modern influences. A famous traditional Scottish instrument is the Great Highland Bagpipe. He harp, fiddle and accordion are also traditional Scottish instruments. Today, there are many successful Scottish bands and individual artists in varying styles.

Scotland rugby team is one of the best rugby teams in world. However, many other sports are played in the country, with popularity varying between sports and between regions. The country has independent representa- tion at many international sporting events, for example theFootball World Cup and the Cricket World Cup.
