  3. 3. ¿ What is WorldCALL ? <ul><li>It is a worldwide professional association for teachers and educators interested in computer assisted language learning </li></ul>
  4. 4. Aims : <ul><li>Provides a worldwide focus for the promulgation of innovative research, development and practice in the areas of Computer Assisted Language Learning ( CALL ) in education and training; </li></ul><ul><li>Enhances the opportunities for knowledge and skills transfer to those nations currently underserved in the areas of CALL; and </li></ul><ul><li>Serves as a forum for exchanging information anf forging professional relationships among educators, researchers and industry leaders across the world. </li></ul>
  5. 5. Previous Events <ul><li>1998 in Melbourne, Australia </li></ul><ul><li>2003 in Banff, Canada </li></ul><ul><li>2008 in Fukuoka, Japan organized by the Japan Association for Language Education and Technology ( LET ) </li></ul>
  6. 6. 1998: vintage for CALL <ul><li>1998: WorldCALL Conference, organized by June Gassin at the University of Melbourne </li></ul><ul><li>WorldCALL book was originated from this conference (Swets & Zeitlinger) </li></ul>
