The Society of Automotive Engineers(SAE) founded in 1905 . An
international engineering society established to “further develop
mobility on land, in air, and in space."more than 84,000 members
–engineers, business executives, educators, and students – from
more than 97 countries.SAE sets the standards in fields such as
ground vehicles, aerospace,refrigerants, and fuel cells, to name
only a few of the areas currently in SAE’s purview.The organisation
sponsors intercollegiate events of which the MINI -BAJA is the
most prestigious event.
BAJA SAE INDIA
Originated in the name of Mini – BAJA, in the year 1976 at
University of Carolina, the event has spanned across six
countries – USA, Mexico, South Africa, Korea, Brazil and India.
BAJA SAE challenges the students to design, fabricate and
validate a single seater four – wheeled off road vehicle to take
part in series of events spread over a course of 3 days . The events
test the vehicle for the sound engineering practices that have
gone into it, the agility of the vehicle in terms of gradability,
speed, acceleration and manoeuvrability and durability.Baja SAE
India,co sponsored by Mahindra under leadership of Dr Pawan
Goenka, is an annual event conducted at NATRAX

The Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham is a dream come true, a dream nursed by
Mata Amritanandamayi to have a centre of excellence in learning for the
benefit of all. Satguru Sri Mata Amritanandamayi Devi, Amma, one of the
foremost humanitarian leaders in the world today, is the Chancellor of the
University. In less than two decades, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham has
blossomed into a multi-disciplinary, multicampus centre with headquarters at
Coimbatore and campuses at Amritapuri, Kochi, Bengaluru and Mysore, that
offers over 150+ undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral programmes in
Engineering, Business, Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy, Nursing, Journalism,
Biotechnology, Information Technology, Arts and Sciences, Health Sciences,
Education, Microbiology, Hospital Management, Visual Media Studies,
Communication, Social Work and Nanosciences and Ayurveda.
Based on evaluation of all campuses and programs by a peer review
committee, the university has been accredited by the National Assessment and
Accreditation Council (NAAC) with an 'A' grade. In a recent review of Deemed
Universities by a high-power committee of reputed academicians, popularly
known as the Tandon Committee, set up by the Ministry of Human Resources
Development, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham was placed in Category 1.
Research is a highly significant activity at the university. Centres of excellence
have been started in cutting-edge areas like Nano sciences, Biomedical
Engineering, Environmental Sciences, Molecular Medicine, Wireless Sensor

Our legacy
Team Agraganya Baja is a subsidary of the Amrita SAE
collegiate club,Amrita vishwa
vidhyapeetham,Amritapuri.The club has a glorious past
being the champions of efficycle,securing good rank for
BAJA 2013,supra racing team from kerala and the list goes
on.
The team comprising of 25 budding engineers focusses on
the design ,manufacturing and marketing of “BAJA
BUGGY”,an All Terrain Vehicle
o 2010
Team agraganya debuted for SAE SUPRA with Garud, a
F1 car prototype manufactured with college facilities.
o 2012
Team Agraganya emerged the national winners of
efficycle event, held at Chandigarh and also bagged
the awards for “best acceleration” and “endurance”.
o 2013
Team Agraganya, one among the two Kerala
participants of Baja SAE 2013 held at Pithampur, Indore.
5. Our future
o Team agraganya is preparing for the upcoming Baja
2014 held at NATRAX-(National Automobile Test Track,
Pithampur near Indore, Madhya Pradesh). We plan to
put the best off-road buggy we’ve ever build on the
track and there won’t be any compromise on
performance or safety
