Eco Batik Exhibition

  2. 2. This is an interactive and participatory exhibition about <br />EcoBatikheld in Universitas Indonesia, October 5-8 2010.<br />Run by 23 students of Department of Archaeology’s <br />“museum exhibition” class and the lecturers!<br />
  3. 3. Eco Batik is Indonesian traditional textile made and coloured by natural dyes and its effluent is recyclable<br />
  4. 4. We exhibited the examples of Eco Batik<br />
  5. 5. As well as displayed the plants that produced the natural dyes<br />
  6. 6. Visitors were allowed to touch and smell the plants that produced the natural dyes<br />
  7. 7. Visitors were able to experience the batik making <br />(using canthing cap)<br />
  8. 8. Visitors were able to experience the batik making <br />(using canthing tulis)<br />
  9. 9. Then we displayed their work within the exhibition! <br />
  10. 10. Visitors could play the puzzle of Batik’s motifs and reveal the stories behind each motifs!<br />
  11. 11. Moreover, we exhibited photo story of Batik industry <br />and its effect to the environment <br />
  12. 12. As well as the testimonies from people <br />within the Batik industry<br />
  13. 13. We encouraged visitors to write their own story about their effort to protect the environment! <br />
  14. 14. And to vote about<br />Eco Batik issue!<br />
