The origins of inspection services.

  1. 1. The Origins Of Inspection Services. Back in the early 90’s 2 things were concrete and apparent. One was that any working industry was demanding quality from its suppliers and it had to be 100% quality and a vision for having some kind of technology that could be used in day to day activities was coming near. An industry whose main components had to be assembled to make a finished product for example an automotive industry or Peripherals industry, many components being produced or brought down would never meet “ZERO DEFECTS” requirements as they were brought or had too been seen in bulk by suppliers who would use old book method of sorting the components by hand and checking it all way round. Research has shown that hand sorting is 85% effective in removing defective product. This hand sorting became more and more time consuming and less and less reliable and as its consequence it was costly with no results at all. Around the same time in the corner was the most incredible innovation yet to see light but in the making nevertheless and that was phrased as a “user-friendly” technology. Systems were complicated, unreliable and expensive. With the development by DVT of the compact, self-contained, vision sensor a new era had begun. Then came into existence an order to provide the need to supply industry with 100% defect free product in an efficient manner which is very professional, value added and cost effective third party witness inspection and testing service The inspection systems were able to inspect product with the required accuracy and repeatability. The inspection process was no longer dependent upon an operator making an objective decision if the

Each product would be inspected exactly the same, using the same criteria, not influenced by stress, time of day, “feelings” or even what plans it had for that evening! Inspection Services and witness testing of materials, witness of processes including production operations, inspections, welding, heat treatment, NDT, plating and other critical operations to ensure that they have been performed right. We add reliability to your product and minimize your risk with our excellent witness inspection and testing services. It later became apparent that some customer’s required sorting equipment for use in their own facility design and build vision based sorting equipment that would specifically meet the customer requirements and function well in the manufacturing environment. This equipment marries the need for sophisticated vision technology with the need for ruggedness, ease of use and the ability to survive in varying industrial environments. Few companies which offer these services are AQSS, Witness inspection, Kross inspectors etc.
