Why Do Baseball Players Take Steroids Unfair
The worlds worst problem in baseball taking steroids in baseball, which makes it an unfair game for
everyone around people who take steroids(Ashby 1). Barry Bonds is one example of someone who
took steroids, he holds the record for the most home runs hit in his whole career, but it really wasn't
fair at all because he took steroids. It isn't fair for anyone playing with someone who has steroids.
This essay will be about why steroids makes the game unfair. This paper has been written to tell you
why steroids makes the game unfair, why they should be banned, and how it affects the game.
Steroids make the game unfair because it makes the people that take steroids way stronger than a
person who doesn't take steroids(Fairchild 1). A guy using steroids would be hitting further than a
person not using steroids. That is cheating. There are many baseball players that have took steroids
and they are cheaters like Ryan Braun and Alex Rodriguez(Mitchell). If a player wants to get big
they should just go to the gym and not take steroids. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Some baseball players get banned for a little bit for taking steroids but people should get banned for
life. Ryan Braun was an MVP and took steroids and it just isn't fair for others who could have gotten
MVP(Mitchell). Barry Bonds was a great player and always hit the ball but he still made the game
unfair by using steroids , he could have just been a great player but he blew it all by taking steroids.
That is why people should be banned for taking steroids in the

Miller Beer Ads Essay
Miller Beer Ads
In television commercials and magazine ads, Miller uses sex, and woman as a way to grab your
attention and to sell the product. We all have heard the saying "sex sells" but how far can alcohol
companies take it. In their latest commercials, Miller uses two very attractive female twins that
argue about to positive aspects for why they drink Miller. One argues she drinks it for the great taste
and the other because it's less filling. This leads to a fight between these two very sexy twins ripping
each others clothes off and wrestling around in a fountain of water; they strip each other down to
just their underwear. Alcohol advertising, especially in the broadcast media, represents the single
greatest source of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Unfortunately, alcohol advertising remains a more significant alcohol educator than parents or the
school system. Alcohol is the only drug for which knowledge about it as a drug decreases, rather
than increases with age. Even fewer 14–year–olds identified beer, wine, or liquor as a drug than did
their 10–year–old counterparts, and the percentage of children who thought daily use of alcohol was
harmful decreased 29 percent from the younger group. Nearly a quarter of the 208,909 TV
commercials about alcohol in 2001 were more likely to be seen by teens than adults. The same study
revealed that teens see more ads for liquor than they do for jeans, acne aids and athletic shoes. The
ads appeared during 13 to 15 of the most popular teen shows including WB's Seventh Heaven and
Gilmore Girls. The average young person saw 245 alcohol ads in 2001. Making the highest quality
beer has been a passion of the Miller Brewing Company since its founder, Frederick J. Miller, began
his brewing business in 1855. Since then, Miller Brewing has grown from a small local brewer to
the second largest brewery in the U.S., with seven major breweries located across America. You
might recognize their television commercial ads of football referees flagging people with made up
penalties like "unbeermanlike" conduct for drinking a Budweiser rather then a Miller Light. Their
sales pitch of course is

Should Borders Be Closed?
Getting to this third step, we have gained knowledge, by learning the facts and by better
understanding the situations of migrants. Also, we have adequately imagined ourselves in each role;
putting together a reality of what it means to be a migrant coming to the U.S. to work, what triggers
that migration, the dangers of coming, and the jobs that are available and taken by migrants. The
largely positive impacts on citizens and how citizens would be affected by the absence of this
complementary labor force.
It is in this step that we challenge our personal thoughts against the facts and see if we are being
consistent with our beliefs and application of the GR. We now ask ourselves, "am I now willing that

The Cato Institute in his report entitled, "Criminal Immigrants: their Numbers, Demographics, and
Countries of Origin" comes to the same conclusion as they found that immigrants were less likely
than native–born Americans to be incarcerated (Landgrave and Nowrasteh). These facts do not
change that Americans believe the rhetoric that immigrants are more likely to commit crimes. In
fact, most already think that undocumented immigrants or illegals are already committing a crime
by being in the U.S. The question is–how with the facts reflecting the opposite, there has not been a
curbing and correcting of the U.S.'s public opinion and social policies? Often, it seems like the goal
is to stigmatize immigrants, then publicize their crimes with the hope that they would be associated
with their crimes.
The stereotype of the criminal immigrants has deep historical root. For example, historian Claudia
Koonz in The Nazi Science notes that the Nazi newspaper Der Sturmer started with the purpose of
publishing crimes committed by Jews, and continued this trend even when the party was in power.
The frequency and harshness of the statistics intensified when the Hitler lead government failed to
convince most Germans to boycott Jewish businesses. To this, historian Saul Friedlander adds, "until
1938, Hitler's Ministry of Justice ordered prosecutors to forward every criminal

Ryan Braun and His Loss of Credibility
Credibility is when how much you can or can't trust someone. If all someone does is goof around
and not follow directions then they have a low credibility. If you can trust someone and they don't
goof around then they have a high credibility. Ryan Braun had a high credibility when he was in
high school, college, and even his early years in the Major Leagues. That was changed forever when
he decided to use PEDs. Ryan Braun shows why credibility is an important quality to have and how
cheating damages your credibility. Ryan Braun was credible as a kid because he worked hard and
was a good athlete. His whole high school career he had an over 390 batting average his whole high
school career (Player Bio: Ryan Braun). He had 25 home runs in his high school career (Player Bio:
Ryan Braun). He started off strong in his high school career when he went 3–3 in the first game
(Player Bio: Ryan Braun). Ryan was credible because he worked hard and his stats proved that he
knew what he was doing. Also they proved that what he was doing worked. In Ryan's first major
league season he played with the Milwaukee Brewers and had a 324 batting average (Ryan Braun
Statistics and History). He got off to a great start and continued to get better in the years to come.
Everyone thought that he was just a good all around player. Ryan had a lot of credibility and a lot of
fans that loved him. During the early parts of Ryan Braun's career he had lots of credibility from his

Midwest Research Paper
ay
There are many different great places to live in the United States. Each region of the US is very
different from the others. My favorite region is the Midwest. I like the Midwest for many reasons,
but mainly because it contains my hometown. States in the Midwest vary from South Dakota, to
Kansas, to Wisconsin, and Ohio. Illinois, my home state, is also in the Midwest. South Dakota has a
well known tourist attraction. This is known as Mount Rushmore. Kansas is known as a pretty
barren state. Along with Illinois, they have lots of agriculture. The main crops in the Midwest
include corn, soybeans, and wheat. Wisconsin is called the Badger state, but is known for the large
amount of dairy produced there. Supposedly, there are more cows in Wisconsin than there are
people. There are also several big cities in the Midwest. The biggest city is Chicago, Illinois, which
is situated right along Lake Michigan. Indianapolis, Columbus, and Detroit are the next largest cities
in the Midwest. Detroit, Michigan is home to automobiles where over one million cars are produced
every year. Milwaukee, Wisconsin is the last of the largest cities in the Midwest and is famous for
brewing. This would explain why their major league baseball team is ... Show more content on

I like the Midwest because it has such a great diversity. You can go be a farmer and grow crops or be
a farmer and raise dairy cows. If you are more of the city slicker type and don't like to live rural,
than you can go live in the big cities such as Chicago. If you like to fish there are many places to go
to or you could visit any of the five largest freshwater lakes in the world. There is also lots of
hunting in the Midwest. The list could go on and on but I'm afraid I would bore you too much. I
enjoy the Midwest for the reasons stated above and because it's where I grew up most my life. I
don't see a reason to move, so if I could choose I would probably stay here for the rest of my

Salary Cap Research Paper
Imagine playing a professional sport and earning millions for sitting on the sidelines. This is what a
salary cap is for. Many athletes such as Brock Oswieler, making 72 million dollars in a four year
span, or Alex Rodriguez, making 275 million dollars in a 10 year span, are getting paid way too
much. Some players deserve high salaries, but salary caps should be used and decreased in
professional sports because a lot of players are being paid monster salaries for sitting on the bench
and not being there. The team can't overspend. Finally, some players get paid tens of millions.
Salary caps are huge in sports. A salary cap is a certain amount of money that is the maximum a
team can spend on a player or team. "The use of salary caps, limiting ... Show more content on

Teams that have a smaller payroll than the Yankees are going to have an amazing roster and it will
not be fair to the other teams. It states in Forbes, "Is it a coincidence that the Yankees have also
participated in forty percent of the championship series, which is also more than any other team? Is
it a coincidence that the two highest payrolls, the Yanks and Red Sox, have won 40 percent of the
World Series championship in this decade? Is it also a coincidence that the Philadelphia Phillies
have the fourth highest payroll, and have been in the last two championships before 2010, and the
only team to perform in successive championship series during the past decade except – what a
shock – the Yankees (2000–2001)? I think not. Conversely, the crowned princes of paucity, Oakland,
San Diego, and Pittsburgh, have the three lowest payrolls, averaging $124.2 million. They have been
0–for–the decade in getting into the championship series. Yes, there are aberrations like the Florida
Marlins in 2003. But the exceptions do not make the rule." If there were no salary caps, teams would
be able to buy championships so much more. You could basically ask any player to join your team
and they will go because that is where the money is. This would be a big problem if there were no
salary caps. It states in UmpBump, "And in 2007, the Yankees spent roughly $190MM on

Promotional Strategy Of Craft Beer
Promotional Strategy Online Mobile Applications Currently, MobCraft has a great online presence
with its social media. According to our survey only 2% of craft beer consumers always follow their
favorite brands on social media and 60% never do. This is why there must be many different ways
consumers can choose to interact with the brand. The mobile coupon application, Ibotta, is a great
tool to get coupons for products in the hands of consumers. Ibotta also offers it participating
companies metrics on consumer buying habits related to their use of coupons. They also allow

Trade shows are crucial to entering the Northern Wisconsin retail locations. MobCraft will attend
the Midwest Craft Brewers Conference in Menomonie, WI and the Northeast WI Craft Beer Festival
in Green Bay. In order to get the brand connected to customers, MobCraft will attend various
festivals such as Summerfest and State Fair. These festivals will also help get more traffic in the
taproom since both events are based in the Milwaukee area. The budget for these promotions is the
largest in order to visit as many festivals as possible. The success of these events will be measured
by how many customers visit the booths and give their information to be added to the email or SMS
texting list. SMS There are many different online tools for sending out mass texts with coupon codes

and how many were not. Retail Signage MobCraft will partner with retail locations that are in the
top 10 for sales revenue of MobCraft products to create signage. These signs will advertise the new
products with creative graphics and wordage. A simulated test market will be used in creating the
signage and getting consumer feedback before proceeding with this plan. This is a cheaper method
of forecasting the effectiveness of signage. The effectiveness will be determined by whether there is

Prohibition Movement Research Paper
The numerous parallels between the prohibition of alcohol and the current drug war are uncanny.
The primary groups leading the prohibition movement were the Women's Christian Temperance
Union (WCTU) and the Anti–Saloon League (ASL). Both groups represented large, religious non–
partisan voting blocs which blamed alcohol for much of society's problems. They specialized in high
pressure tactics and effectively ousted politicians who didn't vote accordingly. In fact, the ASL's
leader, Wayne Wheeler, proudly coined the term "pressure group."
These groups were shameless and limitless propagandists. "Ethics be hanged," said William Eugene
"Pussyfoot" Johnson, one of the most aggressive members of the ASL. Johnson literally bribed

Many in the north supported this propaganda and the timing coincided with a massive influx of
immigrants of Italian, German, and Eastern European heritage. For instance, some prohibition
handouts stated that "Dagos, who drink excessively, live in a state of filth and use the knife on the
slightest provocation." In addition, Purley Baker of the ASL asserted that Germans "eat like gluttons
and drink like swine." That kind of anti–immigrant, in particular anti–German, message gained even
more traction during World War I. Wayne Wheeler of the ASL called the Brewers Association the
"enemy in the home camp" and their pamphlets warned of "treasonable liquor trade." Wheeler,
along with some politicians, publicly implored the government to investigate Anheuser–Busch and
some other Milwaukee manufacturers because of their German

Should The Legislature Make Its Goal Of 100 Days?
All – STATE UPDATE Today is day 55 for the Arizona Legislature, which puts it past the halfway
mark of the "100–day" goal. The question starting to be asked by capitol–watchers is – Will the
Legislature make its goal of 100–days? It's still too early to tell since negotiations over the fiscal
year 2018 budget are still in its infancy and spending priorities are often tricky to navigate between
the Governor and Legislature. We do know the Legislature is operating with a smooth efficiency not
seen in decades, which was on display last week when the House voted on 70 bills in 2½ hours.

FEDERAL UPDATE The Trump Administration's contact with the Russian Government has
temporarily taken the media's focus off of the future of the Affordable Care Act. However, we know
policy makers continue to move forward on ACA repeal and replace. In what is likely the starting
place for House Republicans, a leaked version of an ACA repeal and replace draft bill, dated
February 10, has been circulated by the media. The bill draft mirrors many of the features described
in the "menu" provided to House Republicans prior to the President's Day recess, as well as the bill
passed by Congress in 2015 but vetoed by President Obama. The draft includes a rollback of
enhanced federal funding for Medicaid expansion. Key provisions, such as Medicaid expansion and
individual tax credits, will be defined in more detail once the Congressional Budget Office provides
its estimate of the fiscal impact of the changes. A number of Republican Governors, including
Arizona Governor Doug Ducey, Michigan Governor Rick Snyder, Ohio Governor John Kasich and

Narrative Essay On Chicago
Beep! Beep! Beep! My alarm blared and I knew it was time to hit the road. After 6 extremely long,
tiring hours in the car, we stopped in Champaign, Illinois for lunch. After an amazing meal, we were
on the road again traveling towards Chicago.
We finally arrived in Chicago after countless agonizing hours in the car. When we arrived in
Chicago we checked into our hotel and gazed at the skyline from our window. The next day we went
to the Navy Pier. We rode the humongous Ferris wheel on the pier. It was a ton of fun, even though
I'm not the biggest fan of heights. We also rode the train everywhere we went in the city. Chicago
was a marvelous city and I wouldn't mind to go again.

Aiding In Racial Profiling
"Racial profiling occurs when a police officer selectively focuses on a person's race where the
harass, detain, or arrest the individual"(Cooper,2001). Racial profiling is a serious issue that has
gone rampant in the united states today; people being scared to do everyday activities because of
their race is terrorizing and they culprits should be look at as terrorist. The government system is not
set up to benefit the minorities, the iron triangle is a connection of groups that are placed to try and
benefit the people, but sometimes they only benefit themselves and people alike. Aiding in racial
profiling is an institutionalized form of terrorism and needs to be stopped at the source, and these are
the steps we should take. In the case of the Milwaukee Bucks basketball player John Henson who
was just trying to buy some jewelry he experienced racism. Henson was going to a jeweler to buy
some merchandise and wasn't allowed into the store because he store workers felt intimidated.
Henson was a 6'11" millionair basketball player that looked scary to the store workers, so for the
workers to protect themselves they locked the doors and ran to the back of their office where the
employes proceed to call the police. When the police arrive at the scene they have to suspect that
Mr. Henson was dangerous in some way due to the description given, the police officers were able

The Power Of A Group
The power of a group is immense. Although composed of individuals, a group functions as a
separate entity, and it bears the capability to heavily influence the thoughts and actions of its
members. This manipulation can alter the perception of the entire group and, as a result, lead to a
psychological phenomenon known as "groupthink". Research psychologist, Irving Janis, defined
groupthink as ". . . a deterioration in mental efficiency, reality testing and moral judgments as a
result of group pressures" (84). Janis further categorized groupthink into eight symptoms, spanning
three types; overestimation of the group, close–mindedness, and pressure toward uniformity (Rose
38). The invention of the internet and social media has allowed for ... Show more content on

Although there was a clear disregard for the well–being of others, members of the group had the
thought of justice instilled within them. And so, violence, arson, and stealing may have been viewed
as mainly positive, because it was done in the name of Gray. However, Gray's mother did not see it
that way, saying "I want y'all to get justice for my son, but don't do it like this here"(Yan and Ford).
For protesters, Gray's death was seen as worthy of such an extreme response.
Type two, close–mindedness, mainly sees a group disregarding outside opinions. In August of 2016,
Milwaukee Journal Sentinel staff reported riots breaking out in Milwaukee after officers shot and
killed armed suspect Syville Smith (Glauber et al.). With the exception of serious harm toward
officers, events occurred similar to that of the Baltimore riots. The factor that distinguished the two
was the protester's "stereotyping of out–groups". Which is described as a refusal to reason with out–
groups due to stereotypes (Janis 86). Intern for the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel and Asian–
American, Aaron Mak experienced this directly. He along with another white photojournalist were
reporting on scene, when they needed to hide behind a vehicle to avoid violence. Protesters had

William Henry Bonney: The Short Lived Journey of a Boy Without a Mother
In the tale of the famous American outlaw William Henry McCarty, Jr famously known as, Billy the
Kid, the west is portrayed erroneously as the land of freedom and rebellion by exemplifying actions
of William's exploits. However, in reality the west that Billy the Kid knew was a cutthroat and
barbarous land filled with outlaws and lonesome juveniles. Billy the Kid is a personification of the
American passion for western legends as he is regarded as both a cold blooded killer while being a
hero to those who he treasured most as an accomplice and a fellow friend. The truth behind William
McCarty's past might lead one to believe that society's view on our outlaw tale of Billy the Kid is

Our tale first begins southeast of New Mexico in the 1870s with the rugged frontier territory dotted
with a few small towns, cattle ranches and mining settlements. Although historians are not sure
where William Henry Bonney was born, they do believe that his family came out of the Midwest.
However, when William was a young boy at the age of fourteen his birth father died at the end of the
Civil War from an unknown cause. As time passed, William's mother grew lonesome and married
miner, William Antrim, who was never reality there as a father figure for Catherine two children.

with his brothers and friends. They rode bikes, played kick the can, or wandered around the
neighborhood. Dan went to middle school at St. John's. His teachers were nice but often very strict
and his classes were easy. In class they used very little technology but when they did they used
typewriters, and filmstrip projectors. Dan played on the school's soccer team and practiced 2–4

Marijuana As A Medicine Essay
If your every waking moment was consumed by pain and nausea, wouldn't you ask for medication?
What if the only medication legally available would leave you unconscious or do nothing at all? If
you were the one suffering, would you resort to the only treatment that allowed you to live normally
even though it was illegal? Thousands of people across the country are forced to break the law to
ease their pain. They have chosen marijuana over anything legally available because it has various
medicinal properties that cannot be found anywhere else. Due to these many unique medicinal uses,
marijuana should be reclassified as a valid, legal form of treatment.

Marijuana as a form of treatment has gained support from the medical community. Such prestigious
medical publications as the New England Medical
Journal have come out in support of medicinal uses for marijuana (Milwaukee
Journal Sentinel 1/30/97 3A). In addition to that, a Harvard study showed that nearly 44% of doctors
who treat cancer patients in the American Medical
Association, a group officially opposed to marijuana, have actually recommended marijuana to ease
the pain of their patients ("Medical Marijuana" 22). Even with this support, the federal government
has refused any sort of clinical testing or reclassifying.
Because of its medicinal value and the lack of an effective substitute, marijuana should be
reclassified as a Schedule II drug instead of a Schedule I drug, which would allow it for certain
medical uses. Other illegal drugs such as cocaine and heroin are classified as Schedule II, even
though they are considered habit forming and dangerous, where marijuana, classified as a

Mascots In Baseball
Why Does Baseball Have Mascots for Their Team?
With the exception of only three major league teams, the Angels, the Yankees, and the Dodgers,
most baseball teams have a mascot. This mascot may not seem to have much of a purpose and
according to some, the mascot is more beneficial in other sports, but there is a purpose to it. To
ensure the crowd is entertained. However, many people still want to know why baseball has
mascots. The answer is simple. It is a distraction between plays, something that people can enjoy
seeing during downtime, and something that symbolizes the team.
The idea of a mascot in sports was started in a baseball team. Mr. Met was introduced in 1964 when
Shea Stadium opened and the New York Mets were playing. It was an

The Lack Of Accessibility Of The American Dream
Imagine living in a perfect world where people can do what they want with their life; a world
without discrimination, where art is just as important as math. Well, it's not going to happen. At least
not in the next century. The lack of accessibility of the American dream is especially apparent in the
essay by Kesaya Noda, "The Four Freedoms" by Franklin Roosevelt, "Veterans Day: Never Forget
Their Duty" from the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, and an excerpt from "The Newsroom". The
American dream is inaccessible to the majority of people in America. In the story, a hyphenated–
American, a Japanese American girl is segregated due
To her race: "I can see myself today as a person historically defined by law and custom as being
forever alien. Being neither 'free white,' nor 'African,' our people in California were deemed "aliens,
ineligible for citizenship" no matter how long the intended to stay here. Aliens ineligible for
citizenship were prohibited from owning, buying, or leasing land"(Noda). Due to the stereotypes
and racism caused by being a minority in America, she is limited in what she can do and therefore
cannot achieve what is perceived to be the American dream. Noda expresses how her parents were
discriminated against, how they never had the opportunity to achieve the American dream because
other people didn't view them as equals when she says "our parents were painted as hard workers
who were socially uncomfortable and had difficulty expressing even the smallest opinion. Clean,
quiet, motivated, and determined to match the American way; that is us, and that is the story of our
time here"(Noda). Nobody saw her parents as fellow humans and because of it, they didn't even
have a chance at living the American dream. What is the American dream? The American dream is
what the founding fathers wanted for our country. That perfect life where nobody had to worry about
personal and economical safety. When Franklin Roosevelt wrote "The Four Freedoms", the
American dream is what he was writing about. In his article, Roosevelt states the basic things
expected in America: "Equality of opportunity for youth and others. Jobs for those who can work.
Security for those who need it. The ending of special privilege

Media Reaction on Immigration
Immigration issues are not issues only encountered here in the United States, but are also issues
faced throughout the world. There have been numerous of debates on the issues of immigration in
the United States. The most controversial was the passing of a new bill in Arizona. Governor Jan
Brewer passed into Arizona legislature the SB1070, which became very controversial because of the
demands that this law was enforcing. This controversial bill gives any Arizona law enforcement
personnel full authority to stop any people who they think have reasonable suspicion of living in the
United States illegally. It also gives ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This law was sending a very strong message to all of the illegal aliens living in Arizona. The SB–
1070 was written deliberately with aggressive measures intended to promote to the estimated
460,000 illegal aliens to go home (About, 2011). The issue with some parts of the bill was that it
was racially profiling, and it promoted discrimination against mainly immigrants. The federal judge
also stopped the section of the law that made it a crime for any for any foreign resident living in the
state of Arizona to carry immigration paperwork at all times. In addition, the judge also stopped the
part where it would make it a crime for any illegal or foreign resident living in the state of Arizona
to solicit, perform, or apply for work. This gave illegal aliens living in state of Arizona a big relief to
know that those main parts of the bill were stopped, giving them the advantage to continue to move
forward with their lives instead of worrying about getting deported.
Many people have their own opinions when relating in regard to illegal immigrants hurting the
United States economy. There have been numerous of economist say there is no doubt the U.S.
benefits from illegal immigrants. All of the undocumented people living in the United States
contribute every day in our economy, they contribute as workers, taxpayers and consumers. All
immigrants pay sales and property taxes and most pay federal and state income taxes as well. If

During the Pre–Civil war period breweries such as Jacob Best's which later became Pabst Brewing
and Joseph Schlitz –Miller Brewing began to operate in brewing plants. This period of technological
revolution begin with the introduction of the steam engine led to changes in transportation and
production (Stack 2000).
The local demands were too small to absorb the output of the plants and the cost for production and
transportation to ship to further away locations were expensive. Also with transportation being slow
and beer having a limited shelf life long distance shipping was not feasible.
The answer to the problem came by way of Adolphus Busch, a wholesaler who had immigrated to
St. Louis from Germany in 1857, he married Eberhard Anheuser 's daughter, Lilly, in 1861. Busch
began working as a salesman for the Anheuser brewery. Busch purchased shares of the company in
1869 and after the death of his father in–law he began to run the company. Adolphus Busch was the
first American brewer to use pasteurization to keep beer fresh he was also the first to use mechanical
refrigeration refrigerated railroad cars, which he introduced in 1876, and the first to bottle beer
extensively. By 1877, the company owned a fleet of 40 refrigerated railroad cars to transport beer.

Kohl's Corporation Financial Analysis
American retailer Kohl's has become a prevalent fixture for the purchase of discounted clothing and
home goods in the mid–west for over twenty–five years. The history of the company however has
roots much more modest than present day market dominance would suggest. Dating back to a
Wisconsin supermarket in 1946, founder Max Kohl grew his small business to the most successful
chain of supermarkets in the Milwaukee area (12). By 1962 Kohl opened his first department store
in Brookfield, Wisconsin where an eclectic selection of merchandise, from sporting goods, motor oil
and candy, was sold (11). In 1972, the Kohl's Company which by then consisted of 50 grocery

By 2011, Kohl's corporation reported 1097 stores and a net income of 1.1 million dollars. (12)
Since its first public offering, Kohl's Corporation has shown steady growth and strong profits and
much of that is a result of exclusive and private brands, ability to embrace technological changes
and carefully adjusting its business model to changing customer expectations.
The launching of Kohls.com in 2001 has resulted in steady sales growth in the e–commerce portion
of the company. To support the internet sales, a 940,000 square foot distribution center was opened
in 2001 and a second one was opened in 2010. As internet sales continued to increase to more than
50% of its previous years sales, a third distribution plant has been acquired in Edgewood, Maryland
(16). The new facility is 602,000 square feet but Kohl's plans to expand the building to more than 1
million square feet by 2012. (15). This would indicate that Kohl's intends to continue expanding the
e–commerce portion of the corporation and is making all necessary preparations to support the
growth.
In March of 2011, Kohl's also announced its plans to remodel 100 stores, an 18 percent increase
from 2010 (18) leading to speculation that Kohl's may be trying

The last quality of a scout is usually the hardest to come by as one might guess because of being on
the road for so long. It is tough to keep a family in this job because of time commitments, and the
starting pay can be quite low. Scouts usually report to the director of scouting, and then the director
reports to upper management such as the general manager, assistant general manager, vice president
of global scouting, and director of strategy. It is also possible that scouts and the director will also be
heavily involved with coaches within the organization. The information gathered will help teams in
many ways. It allows them to draft the best possible player and to get the best free agents for the
right price, but it helps them prepare for games against opposing teams. These three parts are vital
when it comes to winning in the present but also in future years. Matt said that the most exciting part

The CommanWealth Fund found that one–third or thirty three percent of Americans forgo health

Governor Brewer also planned on taxing hospitals in order to receive funds for the program. Her
reasoning in doing so is because Arizona already charges a two percent insurance premium tax and a
provider tax on nursing homes (Roy, A. 2013). She also feels that by expanding Medicaid, hospitals
will start to receive payment for services that would have otherwise not been paid for by those who
are uninsured. For those adults with children that are not eligible for Medicaid but their income is
not enough for private insurance, KidsCare was an option until it froze in January 2010 due to a
cost–cutting effort. KidsCare is a state sponsored insurance program for low–income families that is
part of the federal Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP). Arizona is currently the only state
that does not have a CHIP program which forces families that were on the program to partake in the
health care exchange and pay for private insurance or forgo health coverage and be uninsured
(Whiteman, M., 2014). The number of children covered at the time of the program freeze went from
45,000 to about 2,000, which was a ninety–five percent drop (Whiteman, M., 2014). Governor Jan
Brewer proposed to restore coverage to thousand of children through KidsCare II, where Phoenix

I don 't think so. If you go to the bars a lot, then you know who the drinkers are because of their big

to the United States. Miller, who had been a renowned German brewer since 1849, arrived in the

unique brewer 's yeast that he hand–carried from Germany. (The yeast they use in our beers today is
a descendant of that very yeast so treasured by our founder!) Before his death in 1888, Frederick
Miller became one of the early pioneers of bottling beer. After his passing, Frederick Miller 's

Why Do Baseball Players Take Steroids Unfair

  • 1. Why Do Baseball Players Take Steroids Unfair The worlds worst problem in baseball taking steroids in baseball, which makes it an unfair game for everyone around people who take steroids(Ashby 1). Barry Bonds is one example of someone who took steroids, he holds the record for the most home runs hit in his whole career, but it really wasn't fair at all because he took steroids. It isn't fair for anyone playing with someone who has steroids. This essay will be about why steroids makes the game unfair. This paper has been written to tell you why steroids makes the game unfair, why they should be banned, and how it affects the game. Steroids make the game unfair because it makes the people that take steroids way stronger than a person who doesn't take steroids(Fairchild 1). A guy using steroids would be hitting further than a person not using steroids. That is cheating. There are many baseball players that have took steroids and they are cheaters like Ryan Braun and Alex Rodriguez(Mitchell). If a player wants to get big they should just go to the gym and not take steroids. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 5. Miller Beer Ads Essay Miller Beer Ads In television commercials and magazine ads, Miller uses sex, and woman as a way to grab your attention and to sell the product. We all have heard the saying "sex sells" but how far can alcohol companies take it. In their latest commercials, Miller uses two very attractive female twins that argue about to positive aspects for why they drink Miller. One argues she drinks it for the great taste and the other because it's less filling. This leads to a fight between these two very sexy twins ripping each others clothes off and wrestling around in a fountain of water; they strip each other down to just their underwear. Alcohol advertising, especially in the broadcast media, represents the single greatest source of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Unfortunately, alcohol advertising remains a more significant alcohol educator than parents or the school system. Alcohol is the only drug for which knowledge about it as a drug decreases, rather than increases with age. Even fewer 14–year–olds identified beer, wine, or liquor as a drug than did their 10–year–old counterparts, and the percentage of children who thought daily use of alcohol was harmful decreased 29 percent from the younger group. Nearly a quarter of the 208,909 TV commercials about alcohol in 2001 were more likely to be seen by teens than adults. The same study revealed that teens see more ads for liquor than they do for jeans, acne aids and athletic shoes. The ads appeared during 13 to 15 of the most popular teen shows including WB's Seventh Heaven and Gilmore Girls. The average young person saw 245 alcohol ads in 2001. Making the highest quality beer has been a passion of the Miller Brewing Company since its founder, Frederick J. Miller, began his brewing business in 1855. Since then, Miller Brewing has grown from a small local brewer to the second largest brewery in the U.S., with seven major breweries located across America. You might recognize their television commercial ads of football referees flagging people with made up penalties like "unbeermanlike" conduct for drinking a Budweiser rather then a Miller Light. • 9. Should Borders Be Closed? Getting to this third step, we have gained knowledge, by learning the facts and by better understanding the situations of migrants. Also, we have adequately imagined ourselves in each role; putting together a reality of what it means to be a migrant coming to the U.S. to work, what triggers that migration, the dangers of coming, and the jobs that are available and taken by migrants. The largely positive impacts on citizens and how citizens would be affected by the absence of this complementary labor force. It is in this step that we challenge our personal thoughts against the facts and see if we are being consistent with our beliefs and application of the GR. We now ask ourselves, "am I now willing that I'd be treated this way if, I was ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The Cato Institute in his report entitled, "Criminal Immigrants: their Numbers, Demographics, and Countries of Origin" comes to the same conclusion as they found that immigrants were less likely than native–born Americans to be incarcerated (Landgrave and Nowrasteh). These facts do not change that Americans believe the rhetoric that immigrants are more likely to commit crimes. In fact, most already think that undocumented immigrants or illegals are already committing a crime by being in the U.S. The question is–how with the facts reflecting the opposite, there has not been a curbing and correcting of the U.S.'s public opinion and social policies? Often, it seems like the goal is to stigmatize immigrants, then publicize their crimes with the hope that they would be associated with their crimes. The stereotype of the criminal immigrants has deep historical root. For example, historian Claudia Koonz in The Nazi Science notes that the Nazi newspaper Der Sturmer started with the purpose of publishing crimes committed by Jews, and continued this trend even when the party was in power. The frequency and harshness of the statistics intensified when the Hitler lead government failed to convince most Germans to boycott Jewish businesses. To this, historian Saul Friedlander adds, "until 1938, Hitler's Ministry of Justice ordered prosecutors to forward every criminal ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

If all someone does is goof around and not follow directions then they have a low credibility. If you can trust someone and they don't goof around then they have a high credibility. Ryan Braun had a high credibility when he was in high school, college, and even his early years in the Major Leagues. That was changed forever when he decided to use PEDs. Ryan Braun shows why credibility is an important quality to have and how cheating damages your credibility. Ryan Braun was credible as a kid because he worked hard and was a good athlete. I like the Midwest for many reasons, but mainly because it contains my hometown. States in the Midwest vary from South Dakota, to Kansas, to Wisconsin, and Ohio. Illinois, my home state, is also in the Midwest. South Dakota has a well known tourist attraction. This is known as Mount Rushmore. Kansas is known as a pretty barren state. Along with Illinois, they have lots of agriculture. The main crops in the Midwest include corn, soybeans, and wheat. Wisconsin is called the Badger state, but is known for the large amount of dairy produced there. Supposedly, there are more cows in Wisconsin than there are people. There are also several big cities in the Midwest. The biggest city is Chicago, Illinois, which is situated right along Lake Michigan. Indianapolis, Columbus, and Detroit are the next largest cities in the Midwest. Detroit, Michigan is home to automobiles where over one million cars are produced every year. Milwaukee, Wisconsin is the last of the largest cities in the Midwest and is famous for brewing. This would explain why their major league baseball team is ... If you like to fish there are many places to go to or you could visit any of the five largest freshwater lakes in the world. There is also lots of hunting in the Midwest. Many athletes such as Brock Oswieler, making 72 million dollars in a four year span, or Alex Rodriguez, making 275 million dollars in a 10 year span, are getting paid way too much. Some players deserve high salaries, but salary caps should be used and decreased in professional sports because a lot of players are being paid monster salaries for sitting on the bench and not being there. Is it a coincidence that the two highest payrolls, the Yanks and Red Sox, have won 40 percent of the World Series championship in this decade? Is it also a coincidence that the Philadelphia Phillies have the fourth highest payroll, and have been in the last two championships before 2010, and the only team to perform in successive championship series during the past decade except – what a shock – the Yankees (2000–2001)? I think not. Conversely, the crowned princes of paucity, Oakland, San Diego, and Pittsburgh, have the three lowest payrolls, averaging $124.2 million. They have been 0–for–the decade in getting into the championship series. Yes, there are aberrations like the Florida Marlins in 2003. But the exceptions do not make the rule." If there were no salary caps, teams would be able to buy championships so much more. You could basically ask any player to join your team and they will go because that is where the money is. The primary groups leading the prohibition movement were the Women's Christian Temperance Union (WCTU) and the Anti–Saloon League (ASL). Both groups represented large, religious non– partisan voting blocs which blamed alcohol for much of society's problems. They specialized in high pressure tactics and effectively ousted politicians who didn't vote accordingly. In fact, the ASL's leader, Wayne Wheeler, proudly coined the term "pressure group." The question starting to be asked by capitol–watchers is – Will the Legislature make its goal of 100–days? It's still too early to tell since negotiations over the fiscal year 2018 budget are still in its infancy and spending priorities are often tricky to navigate between the Governor and Legislature. We do know the Legislature is operating with a smooth efficiency not seen in decades, which was on display last week when the House voted on 70 bills in 2½ hours. After 6 extremely long, tiring hours in the car, we stopped in Champaign, Illinois for lunch. After an amazing meal, we were on the road again traveling towards Chicago. We finally arrived in Chicago after countless agonizing hours in the car. When we arrived in Chicago we checked into our hotel and gazed at the skyline from our window. William Henry Bonney: The Short Lived Journey of a Boy Without a Mother In the tale of the famous American outlaw William Henry McCarty, Jr famously known as, Billy the Kid, the west is portrayed erroneously as the land of freedom and rebellion by exemplifying actions of William's exploits. However, in reality the west that Billy the Kid knew was a cutthroat and barbarous land filled with outlaws and lonesome juveniles. Billy the Kid is a personification of the American passion for western legends as he is regarded as both a cold blooded killer while being a hero to those who he treasured most as an accomplice and a fellow friend. The truth behind William McCarty's past might lead one to believe that society's view on our outlaw tale of Billy the Kid is simply more corrupt than the truth reveals. Our tale first begins southeast of New Mexico in the 1870s with the rugged frontier territory dotted with a few small towns, cattle ranches and mining settlements. Although historians are not sure where William Henry Bonney was born, they do believe that his family came out of the Midwest. The Lack Of Accessibility Of The American Dream Imagine living in a perfect world where people can do what they want with their life; a world without discrimination, where art is just as important as math. Well, it's not going to happen. At least not in the next century. The lack of accessibility of the American dream is especially apparent in the essay by Kesaya Noda, "The Four Freedoms" by Franklin Roosevelt, "Veterans Day: Never Forget Their Duty" from the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, and an excerpt from "The Newsroom". The American dream is inaccessible to the majority of people in America. In the story, a hyphenated– American, a Japanese American girl is segregated due To her race: "I can see myself today as a person historically defined by law and custom as being forever alien. Being neither 'free white,' nor 'African,' our people in California were deemed "aliens, ineligible for citizenship" no matter how long the intended to stay here. Aliens ineligible for citizenship were prohibited from owning, buying, or leasing land"(Noda). Due to the stereotypes and racism caused by being a minority in America, she is limited in what she can do and therefore cannot achieve what is perceived to be the American dream. Noda expresses how her parents were discriminated against, how they never had the opportunity to achieve the American dream because other people didn't view them as equals when she says "our parents were painted as hard workers who were socially uncomfortable and had difficulty expressing even the smallest opinion. Clean, quiet, motivated, and determined to match the American way; that is us, and that is the story of our time here"(Noda). Nobody saw her parents as fellow humans and because of it, they didn't even have a chance at living the American dream. What is the American dream? The American dream is what the founding fathers wanted for our country. That perfect life where nobody had to worry about personal and economical safety. When Franklin Roosevelt wrote "The Four Freedoms", the American dream is what he was writing about. In his article, Roosevelt states the basic things expected in America: "Equality of opportunity for youth and others. Jobs for those who can work. Security for those who need it. The SB– 1070 was written deliberately with aggressive measures intended to promote to the estimated 460,000 illegal aliens to go home (About, 2011). The issue with some parts of the bill was that it was racially profiling, and it promoted discrimination against mainly immigrants. The federal judge also stopped the section of the law that made it a crime for any for any foreign resident living in the state of Arizona to carry immigration paperwork at all times. In addition, the judge also stopped the part where it would make it a crime for any illegal or foreign resident living in the state of Arizona to solicit, perform, or apply for work. This gave illegal aliens living in state of Arizona a big relief to know that those main parts of the bill were stopped, giving them the advantage to continue to move forward with their lives instead of worrying about getting deported. The local demands were too small to absorb the output of the plants and the cost for production and transportation to ship to further away locations were expensive. Also with transportation being slow and beer having a limited shelf life long distance shipping was not feasible. The answer to the problem came by way of Adolphus Busch, a wholesaler who had immigrated to St. Louis from Germany in 1857, he married Eberhard Anheuser 's daughter, Lilly, in 1861. Busch began working as a salesman for the Anheuser brewery. Busch purchased shares of the company in 1869 and after the death of his father in–law he began to run the company. Kohl's Financial Analysis Essay Kohl's Corporation Financial Analysis American retailer Kohl's has become a prevalent fixture for the purchase of discounted clothing and home goods in the mid–west for over twenty–five years. The history of the company however has roots much more modest than present day market dominance would suggest. Dating back to a Wisconsin supermarket in 1946, founder Max Kohl grew his small business to the most successful chain of supermarkets in the Milwaukee area (12). By 1962 Kohl opened his first department store in Brookfield, Wisconsin where an eclectic selection of merchandise, from sporting goods, motor oil and candy, was sold (11). By 2011, Kohl's corporation reported 1097 stores and a net income of 1.1 million dollars. (12) Since its first public offering, Kohl's Corporation has shown steady growth and strong profits and much of that is a result of exclusive and private brands, ability to embrace technological changes and carefully adjusting its business model to changing customer expectations. The launching of Kohls.com in 2001 has resulted in steady sales growth in the e–commerce portion of the company. To support the internet sales, a 940,000 square foot distribution center was opened in 2001 and a second one was opened in 2010. As internet sales continued to increase to more than 50% of its previous years sales, a third distribution plant has been acquired in Edgewood, Maryland (16). The new facility is 602,000 square feet but Kohl's plans to expand the building to more than 1 million square feet by 2012. (15). This would indicate that Kohl's intends to continue expanding the e–commerce portion of the corporation and is making all necessary preparations to support the growth. In March of 2011, Kohl's also announced its plans to remodel 100 stores, an 18 percent increase from 2010 (18) leading to speculation that Kohl's may be trying ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

It is tough to keep a family in this job because of time commitments, and the starting pay can be quite low. Scouts usually report to the director of scouting, and then the director reports to upper management such as the general manager, assistant general manager, vice president of global scouting, and director of strategy. It is also possible that scouts and the director will also be heavily involved with coaches within the organization. The information gathered will help teams in many ways. It allows them to draft the best possible player and to get the best free agents for the right price, but it helps them prepare for games against opposing teams. Governor Brewer also planned on taxing hospitals in order to receive funds for the program. Her reasoning in doing so is because Arizona already charges a two percent insurance premium tax and a provider tax on nursing homes (Roy, A. 2013). She also feels that by expanding Medicaid, hospitals will start to receive payment for services that would have otherwise not been paid for by those who are uninsured. For those adults with children that are not eligible for Medicaid but their income is not enough for private insurance, KidsCare was an option until it froze in January 2010 due to a cost–cutting effort. KidsCare is a state sponsored insurance program for low–income families that is part of the federal Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP). Arizona is currently the only state that does not have a CHIP program which forces families that were on the program to partake in the health care exchange and pay for private insurance or forgo health coverage and be uninsured (Whiteman, M., 2014). The number of children covered at the time of the program freeze went from 45,000 to about 2,000, which was a ninety–five percent drop (Whiteman, M., 2014). Miller, who had been a renowned German brewer since 1849, arrived in the United States and settled in Milwaukee, Wisconsin in 1855.
