  2. 2. Overview➲ This is about a working mother➲ And her Child
  3. 3. The SituationA woman came home from work late,tired and irritated, to find her 5-year oldson waiting for her at the door.
  4. 4. Son:Mummy, may I ask you a question?
  5. 5. Mom:Yeah sure, what it is? replied thewoman.
  6. 6. Son:Mummy, how much do you make anhour?
  7. 7. Mom:Thats none of your business. Why doyou ask such a thing? the womansaid angrily.
  8. 8. Son:I just want to know. Please tell me,how much do you make an hour?
  9. 9. Mom:If you must know, I make R 50 anhour.
  10. 10. Son:Oh, the little boy replied, with hishead down.
  11. 11. Mom:Mummy, may I please borrowRs.25/-?
  12. 12. The mother was furious,If the only reason you asked that is so you canborrow some money to buy a silly toy or someother nonsense, then you march yourselfstraight to your room and go to bed.
  13. 13. Think about why you are being soselfish. I dont work hard everyday forsuch childish frivolities.
  14. 14. The little boy quietly went to hisroom and shut the door..
  15. 15. After about an hour or so, the womanhad calmed down , and started to think:
  16. 16. Maybe there was something he reallyneeded to buy with that Rs.25.00 and hereally didnt ask for money very often.The woman went to the door of the littleboys room and opened the door.
  17. 17. Mom asked:“Are you asleep, son?”
  18. 18. “No Mummy, Im awake,”replied the boy.
  19. 19. Mom Spoke again:Ive been thinking, maybe I was toohard on you earlierIts been a long day and I took out myaggravation on you. Heres the Rs.25you asked for.
  20. 20. The little boy sat straight up. Oh, thankyou Mummy! He yelled. Thenreaching under his pillow he pulled outsome crumpled up bills.
  21. 21. The women saw that the boy alreadyhad money and she became angryagain.
  22. 22. The little boy slowly counted out hismoney, and then looked up at hismother.
  23. 23. Why do you want more money ifyou already have some?
  24. 24. Because I didnt have enough, but nowI do, the little boy replied.
  25. 25. Mummy, I have Rs.50 now. Can I buyan hour of your time? Please come homeearly tomorrow. I would like to havedinner with you.
  26. 26. The mother was crushed. She put herarms around her little son, and shebegged for his forgiveness.
  27. 27. Infosys Narayanamoorthy has said,going late from work wont always dogood. Do find some time for your familymembers and friends.
