  3. 3. Roof has been cleaned with ASTEC EPDM rinseable primer. Some waterproofing of wall flashings can be seen on brick wall. Notice seam work being conducted in the upper left hand corner of the roof.
  4. 4. The EPDM rinseable primer removes the releasing agent applied to the rolls of EPDM after manufacture that allow the EPDM to be rolled without adhering to itself. The rinseable primer also removes dirt and contaminants. EPDM rinseable primer is essential to the success of any fluid applied system to an EPDM roof.
  5. 5. EPDM roofs tend to fail at the seams and around roof units. The EPDM membrane over the field of the roof is typically in good condition after even 20 years and provides an excellent substrate for the ASTEC Re-Ply roof System.
  6. 6. Installation of self stick Butyl backed tape and fluid applied waterproof membrane to perimeter of skylights.
  7. 7. Full ASTEC Re-ply System has been installed. This results in a seamless roof membrane. All roof units, including pitch pockets, are fully waterproofed with a fluid applied waterproof membrane that is reinforced by having polyester cloth embedded into the waterproof membrane
  8. 8. In order to achieve proper water proofing all roof units are attended to manually. However the cost of the ASTEC Re-Ply System is significantly less than the cost of roof replacement, does not impact landfill, and extends the life of the existing roof a minimum of ten-years. ASTEC Re-Ply is a “cool roof” system reducing the surface temperature of the roof up to 40 ºƒ or greater. This results in lower heat gain into the building, lower air conditioning demand, extended air conditioning unit service, lower energy consumption, lower energy costs, a decrease in the overall carbon footprint of the facility. Cool roof systems like ASTEC Re-Ply can account for 3-4 LEED credits.
  9. 9. ASTEC Re-Ply is a water based fluid applied system that adds virtually no additional weight to the existing roof. In this instance the EPDM roof was the second roof, the only option, other than ASTEC Re-Ply, would have been a complete roof tear-off.
  10. 10. ASTEC Re-Ply is not limited to just EPDM roofs. We manufacture systems for a variety of single-ply roofs, built-up roofs, concrete, and even metal roofs.
  11. 11. In addition to ASTEC Re-Ply’s ten year material warranty, all ASTEC Re-Ply roofs offer the ability to be sustained and have the warranty renewed after the ten-year period. By having the roof cleaned and just the final coat of the original multi-coat application installed, the ASTEC Re-Ply roof can be warranted a second time for an addition ten years.
