Mimi was born on May 8, 1941. She
currently lives in Bishopville with her
husband of 53 years. She is strong in her
faith and loving to all she meets.
2. How it All Began
• Celeste Outlaw, who many
know as “Mimi,” grew up in
rural Lee County.
• She spent her childhood playing
and working on the family
farm.
• Mimi was the third-born child
of Robert and Ollie Mae
Kelley.
3. A New Chapter
• Mimi married James Sidney
Outlaw just three months after
she graduated high school and
began a new chapter in her life.
• They started their new lives
together and were successful in
their respective careers.
• The pair could not be happier
together.

4. Wife and Mother
• Mimi talks of times with her
boys.
• She is still a committed mother
and wife today.
• She is always in her kitchen
cooking something for the
family.
• I asked her if she enjoyed being
a wife and mother and she
said…
5. Becoming “Mimi”
• Celeste gained the title “Mimi”
after the birth of her first
grandchild, Katherine, in 1992.
• Mimi would go on to have three
additional biological grandkids,
Dalton, Anna, and Tee. She has
two step grandchildren, Jenna
and Taylor, and many more
“adopted grandkids.”
• She has cooked many meals,
cared for many bumps and
bruises, and read countless bed-
time stories to her beloved

has been a cornerstone in her
life from the time she was a
young girl.

overcome many struggles and
has also brought her happiness.
• She has been a member of St.
Matthew United Methodist
Church her whole life.

7. An Inspiration Today
• Psalm 1:1-3
How happy is the man who does not follow
the advice of the wicked, or take the
path of sinners, or join a group of
mockers! Instead, his delight is in the
Lord’s instruction, and he meditates on
it day and night. He is like a tree
planted beside streams of water that
bears fruit in season and whose leaf
does not wither. Whatever he does
prospers.
Mimi is truly a tree planted beside streams
of water. Her life is an inspiration to the
many lives she has affected. Her legacy
will go on for many generations to
come.
